MOD 100 Pre-amp tubes

The head came stock with 3 EH12AX7 tubes and would like to put in some new tubes, but don't know the function of each tube.
Can anyone tell me which pre-amps tubes do what in this head?

Far right and forward is input driver
Middle is FX loop
Left is PI(?)

That's what I was thinking as well. Whats a good tube for PI? Do any of these need to be balanced?

If I remember correctly, I heard no discernable difference between balanced an not. Just a good quiet tube. I think I have a Sovtek in there now.

I believe that Bruce and Jeff like the Sovtek WA for all three positions. I use the Sovtek WA and also the Chinese 9th or Mullard in V1.

Put a Tung-Sol in common input slot, EH12AX7 in Effects loop slot & EH12AX7 in PI slot (Both EH tubes are balanced and read 74 from the tube store)

Used a D/D, SL2X & my new Double B EG5 (Jeff converted so A&B are the same as the B side) with Tung-Sol's in V1 & Sovtek's 12AX7 in V2 in all modules.

So far overall amp sounds really good and balanced, gonna take a few days off and play again later to see if it stills sounds like tonight.

I just got one on Friday from Brad (rareguitar)!! I haven't had time to hook it up and play it yet, but I will this weekend for sure!

Good place to start:

Clean / mid-gain modules (BMAN, Twin, DLX, T/D, VX) - V1 - Jan Philips 5751 / V2 - Any good quiet tube...like a Sovtek 12ax7wa or Tungsol 12ax7

Midgain / highgain Marshall Modules (SL, SL2, SL2X, EG3/4, EG5) - V1 - Chinese 12ax7a / V2 - Any good quiet tube (like Sovtek 12ax7wa or Tungsol 12ax7)

COD - Some like V1 w/ a JP5751 (me included)...some like V1 w/ a Chinese 12ax7a (which I DEFINITELY need to try...thanks muudrock!) / V2 - Any good quiet tube (like Sovtek 12ax7wa or Tungsol 12ax7)

That's what I personally use. V1 of the modules do the most tonally of the 2 tubes in each module.

That Mod100 really sounds killer doesnt it. I like how the RMod100 changes the feel of the mods.Luv the COD EG3/4 and EG5 in it so far. Have you tried it with 2 power tubes pulled yet for 50 watts. I almost traded R.Milbeck my M4 for his RM100 for another Dual mod but i was a few hours late.

I tried mine with 2 tubes only because after eric left,I blew one It feels way better with 4

wish my Mod100 looked like that....it was bent upon arrival...about 4-5 degrees to the left....not brad's fault in the least...i hate shipping stuff. good stuff always gets damaged
