modern hard rock pedal

I purchased a vox ac15c1 which has a celestion blue in it now. I mainly purchased it for worship team, ease of transportation, and clean tone but i also have a titan custom 100. I use that for modern hard rock such as red, staind, alter bridge and things like that. I LOVE the titan for that but i can't justify keeping it for as little as i use it now that my band has stopped playing. So, i am looking for distortion/overdrive pedal to use through my vox that can get close to these overdrive tones so i can sell my titan and mesa 412. Any ideas? It doesn't have to be perfect but i just tested a hardwire metal distortion because my friend really liked it...sounds awful with my set up at least. I've heard good things about the wampler triple wreck. Thoughts?

I would go with the wampler triple wreck or barber dirty Bomb.

Dude, AMT Drive Series all the way. They sound great in front of an amp. NOT to be confused with their Legend series which will sound like poo in front of a clean amp.

The Vt Drive is awesome.

I'll take a look at these. any thoughts on the crunchbox? I've also had that suggested to me.

Crunchbox is great but is a modded Marshall type of thing not as heavy as you are looking for. I had good luck with the Hardwire Metal but you have to really play with the EQ controls to get it there.

I'd say Uberschall or the wampler Triple Wreck. Both sound very good in front of a clean amp.

I had an uber pedal for a couple weeks and it sounded amazing through my juansolo vox-based tube pedal straight to the loop of my amps
and by amazing, I mean amazing like a real tube preamp, not like a good sounding distortion pedal
it's very natural and fat sounding and also has great dynamics
reacts to picking and boosters just like a real amp
it's easy to dial a bad tone in an amp input, but not hard to get it right either
for some reason, it's instant plug n' play when plugged straight into the amps loops, despite of being a distortion pedal and not an actual preamp

sounds WAY better than the AMT B1 I had home a few years ago
the AMT was gainy as fuck, too hard/dry, too bassy and too trebly
in the loop, it was even bassier and drier
nothing like an amp and more like a distortion pedal
I'd take a crunch box over the AMT any day

there are very few videos that capture how good the Uberschall pedal sounds in the input, and I found none of the loop
here's a couple of the good ones

I would be very interested to try one in the loop but unfortunately the vox AC 15c1 has no loop so i am stuck going into the front of the clean amp.

So i am now looking into the crunchbox, uberschall pedal, amt vt drive, wampler triple wreck. I've really only listened to the crunch box and thought it sounded great but wasn't sure if it could do high enough gain. I am kinda looking for a much higher gain tube screamer type sound. Would an OCD get high enough gain?

Suhr Riot Reloaded. Sounds killer thru my ac30!
For hard rock type? I'll take a look. I've heard clips on the suhr riot but never heard of the suhr riot reloaded.

I'm gonna say the Suhr Riot aswell. Amazing pedal.

Bare with me here. Back in the days of my first band where I knew nothing about guitar tone & equipment & couldn't afford my own amplifier. We'd travel from show to show with only a box of pedals to set up with a house back-line.
The other guitar player was using a distortion pedal that, to this day, I've not heard another that sounded as tight & fierce. In later years, I bought one for nostalgic reasons. That is, the "Ibanez Smash Box".

If you see one on e-bay, buy it. It absolutely screams, for what is essentially a budget pedal. It's kinda funny how amazing it sounds.

Out of all of those mentioned prior, I like the 2012 Plexitone better. It has the karrang of a true Marshall.

fuzzes work fine with the AC15C1
That's what i hear but i cannot stand fuzz pedals. They just seem so non musical to my ears. I know some people use them for specific genre but they are not for me. I'm looking to get as close as possible to a high gain amps overdrive channel...mesa dual rectifier or my titan come to mind. How about a wampler slostortion? I've never played a SLO but I've heard the titan and SLOs have a similar voicing. As i said, this does not have to be perfect. I just want as close as possible. I know nothing is the same as the amp itself but i just don't play high gain as much any more so i cant justify keeping the titan.

I like the clips of the Wampler Triple Wreck and it gets overall great reviews. While the Wampler SLOstortion generally gets bad reviews. I think its very hard to capture an SLO in a pedal.

Also, you might check if the Vox AC15C1 has a bright cap, if so that will make it very picky about distortion pedals. Vox's in general I find are a bit picky when it comes to distortion pedals.
