Dimarzio Super Distortion

Indeed. I have an ancient one that I potted myself. I don't remember why. Maybe it squealed. Tiz the one to have. I prefer the JB but that's just me.

When I think of 80's, hair metal PAF I think JB. But when I was a kid there was a divide, people into Duncan and people into Dimarzio, I was always a Duncan guy. But I know a lot of people loved the Dimarzio Super Distortion. I was also a GHS Boomer guy not a D'Addario guy. I worked in a music store all through the early 80s to late 80s and it always seemed like Duncan guys liked Boomers and Dimarzio guys liked D'Addario strings.

Back in the days you had to have a high output pickup to push the amp
Now with tons of high gain amps and boosts, medium output pickups is where it's at, unless you're still rocking the JCM 800
