My favorite LP pickup right now is the Guitar Force Erupter, FAT and ballsey, yet sweet. I found it more full and warmer than the Torque. I thikn ths Torque was great, just not in that guitar.
I have a Timbrewolf in my other LP and it is SLIGHTLY scooped in the mids. I think that is my problem with it. I thikn the Afwayus will be a nice one for this LP, or another Guitar Force like the Spitfire which is supposed to be a PAF on steroids at about 12k+. Wonder if the Afwayus would balance with a Wolfetone Marshallhead neck pickup? Hmmm
True.i just find the Torques have a cleaner muscle than Afwayu.I also have the Blissbuckers in an LP and they are not hot but feel very ballsy and vintagey and make me feel all warm inside Guess I better stop HUH!!!!richedie":1k2wr8r8 said:Really can depend on the guitar. Eric finds em less muscular than Jason but it could be the guitar. Another thing, you never know how muscular a pickup will be till installed, it is hard to tell from specs alone. I have 9.2 pickups that have huge muscularity. One of the most muscular pickups to my ears is the Rio Grande BBQ.

I agree with both you and richidie. The Torques have more of a vintage flair with a more "vintage muscle" tone . The Afwayus have a bit more modern feel...which is killer for harder rock...and such. I liked both. I just liked the Afwayus better for me .

Hi Joe. I sure do handwind. I also have wound with machine controled traverse- There is the Raging debate which is better, yada yada. The important thing is to know the differences and isolate the characteristics of each method using them to your advantage. There's really no better or worse way, just style and class- what works for the designer. Lastly, the pickup works as a system so changing the TPL (Turns per layer) on just one coil is going to change the system entirely not to mention the materials of choice so there are noodles of options that keep all the builders unique.....
Thanks for all the kind words guys...You guys know I don't get out much, lol. Drop me a line anytime!!
