AngelDust is a different pickup from the Blissbucker or the Blister. I haven't played the Blissbucker or the Torque but I do know that my brother in law is absolutely ECSTATIC about the Blissbucker in his LesPaul.

If I am not satisfied and would like a less hot PAF type tone than what they give, I'll put them in my PRS and order a set of Bliss Buckers. I'm excited to hear what the Blisster is going to sound like my LP. I'm hoping I can get a good mix of classic rock and modern/hard rock tones from them....we shall see!

Did you get them with Alinico 2s? That's what mine has in it. I've never tried the Blister w/A5s, but the A2 definitely takes some of that high end off you'd get with, say, a 59.bbaug14":3m3ukpx0 said:I just purchased a set of the Blisster Buckers. However, I find A2s just lack some of the clarity and punch of an A5 - especially for rock! I think an A5 with a 300k volume is ideal.
Are any of your guys using pickups in the 14-16k range? Sometimes that can be too hot for modern amps like the Egnater and can be too compressed and thin. Sometimes it is better sticking with low-medium output.
Well the Blister Bucker is 14.X ish...one of the reasons I preferred an A2 in it was to tame some of that high end that becomes more apparent in a higher output pup...However, I did lower the gain on the amp a little, as well as bump up some of the high end EQ on my 6 band to compensate. Its in an Alder Pacer body...perfect for Lynch/DeMartini. All in all, I still prefer it over the 59 I had in the guitar before.richedie":h2qf7ttc said:I like Wade's a lot!

ForPAF 7-9k styled pups, I certainly agree A5 is the way to go.

I got Wade to over-wind them a bit and we decided that they would also have A5 magnets. So how do they sound? They match up with a LesPaul very nicely indeed. Like the rest of Wade's stuff, lots of clarity, a really nice vintagy-chunky low-end, plenty of bite on the top end. Amazing clean-up by rolling off the volume. Beatiful cleans. I wouldn't say that they have any special mid-range characteristics, but that wasn't what I was going for.
This is the first time I tried this: Full volume on bridge pickup for the full amount of dirt, volume at 2 or so on the neck pickup for a beautiful clean. I could go from dirty to clean just by using the toggle switch on the guitar. I think I was playing through a gained up EG5 or a fairly heavily boosted Brahma, can't quite remember but I marvelled at how well that worked. These pickups are definately staying in the 'Paul.

That is so weird. I would have definately requested A5 and a slight overwind too. Go figure, small world huh? Glad you like them they sound exactly like what I need. Did you rewire the Les Paul with an RS kit or anything else to improve the tone/wiring scheme or is just the stock Gibson wiring plate?
