Which Marshalls, and which boosts for each amp?I had the Lynch version. I liked some things about it, but still ultimately preferred my Marshall’s with a good boost instead. The Soldano Hot Mod when AB’ed had better, more organic tone, actually somewhat Soldano-y sound, a little less tight though, but still for me liked a good boost more
Mainly a stock 1972 Superlead 100, but I did also try it in a stock 1979 JMP2203 I had and a Monomyth modded JCM800 2204. For boosts I mostly just use a real klon that I'm lucky to have. I have lots of other cool boosts too, but don't use them that often anymoreWhich Marshalls, and which boosts for each amp?
This is why I’d rather use the search function here and reply to existing posts than start new ones to ask the same questions previously asked. You guys already have this ball rolling!
I just got WA Centavo from Sweetwater for a steal. Going to push the front of the Plex with that and the Mr.Scary Mod installed once I’m all setup with it. ?I had it in a 2203 - also interested to hear about a plexi.
In a 2203 it adds more juice without much coloration so it won't re-voice the amp to modern designs of equal amounts of gain.
in summary if I had another 2203 I'd go Leg. Tones first before sending it in for mods.
Yes.Does the hot mod work in any other amps?
