Well all of these responses have given me alot more confidence :D Jerry are those three in the shop for sale ? Or are they customer guitars? I think I may have to look more seriously at these

One is our tester guitar for pickups....so it's tricked out to swap pickups in about 1 minute with no soldering. Any of you LA based guys are welcome to come by the shop if you're interested in purchasing pickups and using it. One is my personal Charvel clone and the other is a customer's that we're building.

I'll try to get some pics up later this week when I get some time. Also, I may put together some killer custom builds for sale soon. Probably Charvel based stuff....but we'll see. Any ideas are welcome, I always like knowing what you guys would be into seeing! I have a complete set of Charvel clone brass hardware and brass bridge, maybe I'll put together an old-school, aged Charvel style with the old brass hardware???

Hey - now that I am on this board surfing around a bit - I am really enjoying it!
My 2 cents on Musikraft: I love those guys! They have made a ton of stuff for me and the quality is AMAZING!
I needed to make 3 prototype guitars (unfinished Charvel style body, 1 hum, 1 volume, strat style neck: maple/maple) to demo some bridges for a HUGE artist. the 3 guitars came out amazing and served their purpose for the demo very well. I kept one for myself and play it often - it smokes! I gave one to Phil Collen who fell in love with it and had me ship it overnight to Ireland while recording. Two thumbs up for Musikraft!
Cheers~

So ok I got to try out quite a few guitars built with Musikraft bodies and necks today...
Two Mahogany Charvel bodied guitars 1 with a rosewood fret board the other with an ebony fret board..
One Korina Charvel body with ebony fretboard..
And One Padauk I forget what body style and fretboard though..
Sorry but the amount of guitars to play was limitless in woods so it very hard to recount what every guitar had...
But there certainly was a lot more to try out..

All these guitars had NO paint on them.
I am very impressed with the Wood that these guys use
They were all One Piece bodies with visually appealing grain patterns..
All of them had different pickup combination's & Brands so I will not judge there..
But all of the guitars resonated great without an amp..

The necks were pretty dam good also even though they were all the same design and style..
So I will not judge there also...

I am impressed with what I have seen, played and heard I have no doubt that my next guitar will be made using their products..
Besides the quality I like the fact they are doing everything right here in the U.S.A. and they are local to me..
I support local and I support made in the USA products so I might be biased here....

And regarding the topic of Finished neck work with Musikraft necks
I was told that you have to request that in order to receive it due to people having their own preferences, Or a guitar tech might know their clients preference better than them so...
The guy that is refretting my ESP MII is the guy that they sub contract that work to..

I apologize for not having pictures but I forgot the camera at my g/f's house..
But when I go back next week to pick up my guitar if you guys are interested I will get some pictures..
I will also be visiting them directly in the next month or so with the guy refretting my guitar...

Hope that helps, It certainly helped me..

Sounds great oldskool, I am sold on Musikraft. I will do a project with them for sure, as soon as I make some room in the stable. Thanks all for the awsome input. Again rig-talk feeds my GAS :D

With a Floyd, just remove the springs and either let the bridge flop or remove it from the body, change the pickup and pop back in the floyd. I can typically change a pickup in under 15 minutes...but I solder ;)

+1

I would guess they are using battery snaps for quick connection, so that no soldering is needed in the guitar each time you want to try a new pickup. The only soldering needed would be from the pickup hot and ground wires to another battery snap connector.

Close...but not quite. No Floyd, and zero soldering at all. Strings don't even come off or get loosened. Changes pickups in about 1 minute flat. James Lugo loves it!

Carrying as many pickups as we do, I had to have a way to hear and compare all these pickups so I can actually tell people what they sound like! It was a necessity, and I couldn't go soldering brand new pickups and trying to sell them as new...not cool.

Guards slide on and off with 2 embedded magnets, guard electronics connect to jack and bridge ground with battery clip, pickup alligator clipped to pre-soldered wire from hot and ground on guard...done, 1 minute flat. There are a few other slightly tricked out details that make it all work really easy...but that's the main deal!

I have a whole bunch of their necks, all great stuff. I like that I can order whatever neck profile I want. I'm not into the typical think sleek necks but love th Charvel look.
