My attempt to 'nail" the Ride the Lightning tone

Hard to tell precisely without more of a band mix but it seems to be missing a little low end and the top end is a little raspy, just a little. It definitely makes you think of the record though. The sections that even on the record are just guitars are the best comparison points.

On YouTube you can listen to the recording of their isolated guitar parts. That’s more what I was thinking about when listening to his clip. I liked the more aggressive sound myself. The actual record imo always sounded too bloated/kinda nasal. I loved the songs (my 2nd favorite Metallica album for that), but never was a fan of the sound of the album. I think the OP’s clips are in some ways better since there’s less bloat and more aggressive/direct. I like the sound of his other 2203’s clips more, but of course they don’t sound like the RTL album
