off topic-I played a real legit 1959 flametop.....it felt a lot different than any R8,R9 and R0 that I've owned or played....and I've had a bunch. And my Greco JS feels as good as my old R7...or any of the other customs I've owned. I'm not as big a brand snob as I used to be. If epiphone has finally stepped their game up-and it looks like they have-then heck yea...I can definitely see this happening.
Bro, definitely check out the new Epi's out when you get the chance. Epiphone has made a quantum leap in quality since the new owners of Gibson took over.
My Epi Les Paul Traditional Pro IV is a damn good Les Paul with a solid maple cap. I bought mine on sale for $399 brand spankin' new with Lifetime warranty. Flawless guitar. Built like a freakin' tank. Great mod platform, but the stock pickups ain't bad at all. Coil splits, too
They're a GC/Musician's Friend exclusive. On the GC site, they're $549 for all 4 colors BUT...they're on sale at Musicians Friend: $409 for the Wine Red, Ebony, and Pacific Blue (burst), $549 for the Gold Top version. My Epi is better than several Gibsons I've owned in the past.
I won't part with mine unless I have to. She's a keeper.
