If you guys like that Sykes tone then you should pickup Jeff Watsons solo album called Lone Ranger. The guitar is so in your face it's just slammin. It reminds me of the Sykes tone but less processed. I'll try and upload a song.

VH1 classic was running a Thin Lizzy show that had Sykes on it. He was grabbing the string between the tailpice and bridge doing some whammy type stuff. That was pretty cool. He also checked his knobs a million times too....

With that said, Ive never liked Greg Howe's tone either lol! I heard a few guys on another board raving about his tone and I was just scratching my head like hmmmm

Greg's tone was hideous in the early stuff, but i do like the tones he gets on Extraction..its all Cornford, instead of those modded showmans. Regarding Sykes, I dont know much about him, but when i saw a few years back with thin lizzy, it was an JCM800 and les paul and HUGE fricken tone! that guy sings his ass off too! talented
