Karen Boogie? LOL!

Is that actually her on the recording? Damn, finish it. That's a metal album opener if I have ever heard one.
One reason i never finished it is i was excited at time and showed to a few people. There was great feedback, but one guy said it sounded like Rammstein. I realized a riff was close to du hast...i think it is called.

I talked with richard kruspe and he laughed and said it was different enough not to matter, but I dont want to steal someone's riff

Rig Talk never disappoints. This is why this is best guitar forum on the interwebs.

The skill level of musicians here is top notch.

Killer, very bomb.

Always take feedback with a grain of salt. Everyone hears things differently. If you would've told someone like me "this sounds kind of like Rammstein" I would've asked you what breed of sheep you were keeping or something. I mean, this is TX after all. Goat roping is a real thing here.

I gotta buddy back in Tampa. HUGE Duane Allman guy. We were gigging one night and someone says to him "damn, you sound like the new Dickie Betts". My buddy didn't take it very well, you could see it on his face like WTH but the reality is it was a really good compliment.

Yeah. But the riff sounded close to me too. I listened to them in highschool so could have been my subconscious. I contacted him to make myself feel better about it, but end of the day, i still felt I was kinda ripping him off.

One of the songs my band does I wrote in 1978. We also do songs I wrote 2 weeks ago. A lot of the stuff we do I wrote between 1989 and 2004. My policy is I can use or steal anything I want. Everything by the entire band is improvised all night. The Bass player being a touring stand-up comedian some of that is used also.

This was my Diezel tone for years . used a ts9 and 10 band boss on Chanel 3 . The video looks shitty but I’m impressed the chunk and tightness shows up on an iPhone clip .Anyhow I decided I’m going to relearn this song I wrote . You guys ever go back to your old songs ???????Its interesting to see how different you played .

@ChuggNorris
Here’s some chugs for ya

It really is a badass song and some brutal fuckinng chuggs

I hear you. Bear in mind your guitar is just one or two tracks. Vocals, bass, drums. other instruments, the arrangement, melody line etc all leave you room to make it your own. But yeah, that's happened to me a time or two. Sometimes it's best to move along. You still got her on tape, you can make a different jam. Karen's Port-O-John blues or something like that.

Dude! That short hair… you need to post more; it’s good to hear that…. You sound like an MG42, hammering it out at 800+ rounds per minute.

Thanks man . I had written a lot of this on an SG in standard tuning . I though what if I transfer this to my 8 string tuned in drop E . Then down to drop D an octave lower . I do need to rerecotd it

I guess she expected the whole crew to hold it until after 5pm eh? I bet if you would've billed her for the port a john that would've resulted in an even worse rant, lol. Total crap at the time no doubt, but looking back on stuff like that is hilarious. Sounds kinda like Austin.

I was playing the bat bar downtown on 6th one day and some girl comes in real quick and says "who's your favorite blues singers?". I named them off and she was like "all men huh? "You must a chauvinist pig". I just shrugged and counted off the next song. Some people man....
Maybe you were supposed to name her favorite blues singers, not yours…😂
Typical Karen wants you to read her mind. Can’t Understand Normal Thinking
