My Pedalboard pics. Posted at last.

Cool little board Nick, and Yeah! Neutrik plugs! A REAL man's plug to say the least. I thought I was the only person around who likes 'em. Most robust plug I've ever used so far; to damnation with the size of them.

And yeah, that guitar of yours kicks so much ass. Needs Motor City Pickups in it though.

I've been looking to get one of those Axess buffers. I've got the TU-2 first in the chain, but I'm ready to replace it with a True-Bypass tuner. I need at least one buffer though. But, Axess is out of those buffers at the moment. What's another good one?

MI audio makes a pedal called Boost and Buff.

It's NOT true bypass.

When it's off, it's a dedicated buffer. When it's ON, it's a clean volume boost.

Well, it makes sense for it to not be true-bypass. The Axess is in fact not True-Bypass as it's always ON.

They don't offer kits...

But I'd love to help you spec one out, or even assemble it for you!

What would you suggest if I wanted a Les Paulish kind of thing, but with a Floyd Rose or something like that?

talk to mario and see when they'll be back in stock.

otherwise, you could check out "ToneFreak's Buff Puff'

designed with Dave Friedman.

One thing Nick... If the BS-2 Buffer has a split out, why run the tuner in line? Wouldn't it be more efficient to plug that into the split out?

Because it kills your signal while tuning. So you get silent tuning with no sacrifice since its true bypass.

Yeah, there's no way to get the tuner-mute function if it's not in the direct line. Besides the Pitchblack has a true bypass relay inside it, which is the real deal, but not a old school mechanical switch.

I was just looking at that one, thanks Casey. So I'm between this one (ToneFreak Buff Puff) and the One Nick recommended, MI Audio's Boost N, Buff.

i've got a basic buffer circuit I use in rack interfaces where the signal is split one to the board, and one to the tuner, you can mute the send to the pedals, and only feed the tuner. its like a buffered a/b box.

true-bypass pedals are making a comeback.. I just got my turbo-tuner today, and it rocks. I run it in a loop of my grx4..

and PS, thanks to Nick, and a showcase this weekend, I'm pretty well done re-wiring my board.. pics to come...... tomorrow.

Hey Casey,

I got pretty excited when you said you got a Turbo Tuner. I've been super close to placing the order for one. The only reason I haven't done it is because I don't know anybody that actually got one and can tell me they like it. I've seen some raving reviews on other forums... but, you know... It can be anybody, even someone who works for Sonic Research.

Really... Please tell me what you think of it. How long did they take to ship it? -Danny

it shipped the day I ordered.. took about 6 days (international of course)

its pretty easy to use, tracks really well, and is small.

they had a problem processing my credit card for some reason, so I paypaled them and in an hour or so had a tracking number.. awesome company!
