I came to the conclusion that the Line6 POD XT Live I have been playing though for the last 5 years was not the champ I thought it was. *pause for flogging*
I recently started playing with a guy who has a pro rack rig and was just blown away by his tone. So after some discussion with my wife I decided it was time to upgrade. Everything.
And it ended where it began...with the preamp.
I originally bought a Mesa Boogie Triaxis (which is what my buddy plays through) but additional research led me to Egnater and so I sold the Mesa before I ever powered it on and began looking for an M4.
Well, I just ordered a New Egnater M4 Preamp and a Rebel 112x Cab from Frank at Amp Lounge (thanks Jeff!)
So here is the final build...
TC Electronic G-System
Ernie Ball 6180 VP JR 250k - Volume
Ernie Ball 6181 VP JR 25k - Expression
Egnater M4 Preamp w/2 modules (for now)
Mesa Boogie 20/20 Amp
BBE Sonic Maximizer 882i
Hughes & Kettner Red Box Classic
SKB 1SKB-R6W
(Still need to find a case for the pedal board)
And then there is the guitar...
