Grizzly will deliver liquor to your studio.
Right proper rig-talk style too. Niceone! This seems like a April fool's post.
This is neither enthusiasm nor insanity. This is golden scientific research. This can only get better if I get quad of them in the end lolIf there is one, I am too far away from it to see it.
Preparing to shoot over 50 V30s out with each other to find out what parameters really make the difference.
Production facility, production year, OEM version, luck?
I hate myself alreadyView attachment 185512
Please stop, you’ll rob me of sleep for many nights to comeI would find it a futile effort considering speakers from the same batches and year can sound different.
Of the 8 and 16 Ohm versions I know exist I have all except the 16 Ohm black frame (T4297) and the 16 Ohm Dave Mustaine V30 (T5731). However the latter appears to have the same model number as the Tube Amp Doctor 25th Anniversary speaker of which I have three. I believe they could just be relabeled.Do you have every version? My fav is by far the first version, mid-late 80s Marshall Vintage 8 ohm T3896....not as bright as the following 16 ohm 1991 versions. I have a 1988 JCM 800 slant with them. Killer.
I will be effectively as I will be comparing Marshall, Mesa and Bad Cat OEMs to regular V30s from the same year. After 2001 regular T3903 and T3904 models are usually made in China. UK made "regular models" after 2001 are very hard to find but they exist. I have seen maybe three in the last four years of collecting. I have one UK T3903 from 2016 and I will be comparing that to a Chinese T3903 also from 2016.Are you differentiating between Chinese V30s and British V30s ?
Yeah, it's going to suck big time but I really want to get that data. Been preparing this stupid mission for over four years.Geezus. That is a task at hand for sure.
What is this so-called line you speak of?My Vintage 30 pile - Where is the line between enthusiasm and insanity?
OP this dude usually has helpful comments, but ignore this.Yeah this is definitely insane
All of them in as iso cab with a fixed mic arm to keep the test conditions as controlled as possible and then maybe some of my faves in a 2x12
I intend to reamp a couple of riffs and using room eq wizard to make some graphs. Might make IRs tooWhat's going to be your test signal?
Definitely! I can't wait to get rid of 15 to 20 when I am doneFantastic! This should be a great listen when completed!
Are you going to be selling any when done?
