NAD Diezel Herbert MK3

The mk3 is much more clear in the midrange for sure. It’s also quite different between channels 2 and 3 vs the mk1/2. Channel 2 on the mk3 is where it’s at for rhythm tones, while channel 3 has much more midrange and is better for leads. I like them all personally but the mk3 is a welcome change and not worse by any means.
I found channel 2 and 3 to be pretty close, other than more gain on the third channel

Im definitely curious and wanna hear some clips, i've heard the same things from multiple ppl about it

Really digging the Herbert Mk3 here. I'm positive either that or one of the other versions will be my next amp. Still waiting for my Matamp to come in, but I might just flip it as soon as it does. The Herbert just has THE sound for me. I prefer it to the Marshall here.

Which do you prefer more for heavy rhythm playing?
Channel 2 by a mile. I couldn't get along with channel 3 on either the Mk1 or Mk3. The gain is grainier and the voicing is a bit harsher. I agree it can be fine as a dedicated lead channel.

Really?????? You thought this after hearing them mic’d up?

Yes, the CH3 is like the CH2+ just a bit more gain and tad more aggressive.

I would use the CH3 for thick Modern Metal stuff with a boost and the 2+ for the rest.

Great amp, i'm very grateful to have one.

No. I heard it standing in front of the amp.

Yea, they aren’t even remotely similar in my opinion. Especially compared to how similar channels 2 and 3 are on the mk1/2. Even those are pretty different in feel and response, but channel 3 on the mk3 is definitely much, much more mid forward than channel 2, so much so that I was quite disappointed with the mk3 compared to the mk1 until I realized this. Channels 2 and 3 on the mk1/2 you could use either For rhyrhm tones, not a chance I would do that with the mk 3 on channel 3.
