Only spent about 20 mins so far with it, but I’ve already been able to dial in tones that I like over any of the other 5 Diezels I’ve owned so far. I’ve found the screen very easy and intuitive to navigate. I’m loving the concept of having presets on a tube amp. Different presets for my ESP and my Tele. Just plug in and click over and Bob’s your uncle.

One possible issue though, when I cycle through the different channels, I’m getting varying volume levels without changing any other settings. Green being by far the loudest, yellow and blue being maybe half the volume of green, and red being about 75%. Hoping this might be a preamp tube issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I’m gonna do some tube rolling in a bit. I’ll be posting some clips in this thread in the coming days, both mic’d and using the direct recording out with the internal IR, and then bypass the IR and go into some 3rd party ones.

Your post had me wondering about the volumes, because I thought I’ve encountered that before. However, I just checked and made sure each channel was at volume 0.75 before switching. Nothing was noticeably louder than the other. I still have the stock tung sol preamp tubes.

Easy to have happen first time with this amp! There’s at least three different places to adjust volumes.
There's a little learning curve to it, but nothing worse than a Quad Cortex or something like that. I was up and running in a minute. Really loving it so far.

This might be the greatest amp ever! I’m still planning to post a few clips. I’ve just been busy making presets and just jamming out. It really can do everything. What a great piece of tech @Leo Diezel @Peter Diezel

Here's a clip using the red channel in cabless mode, going direct into my interface using the VHX's IRs. Using a baritone Telecaster tuned to G# standard. Really great for practicing quietly or possibly live, but I don't think it's something I would commit to an album.

have fun with it!
but no, it can't do everything, it can do a massive amount of stuff, but the Diezel DNA is definately in there.
Now, if there was a variable switchable lowcut early on, then the possibilities would quadruple.
The IR are OK for clean and low gain, but it sounds so much better with a real cab!

since i love blue shape0 modern, which is not a real representation of any other Diezel i am glad i went with the VHX, too!
it's sounds the most pleasing and most evil to my ears at the same time!

I tend to stick to shape 1 and modern on red or blue. I love how usable the red channel is compared to a lot of the "lead" channels I've had in the Diezel line. It works perfectly for metal rhythm. The switchable/programmable pre loop is such a great innovation as well. I agree I would've loved to have seen a low cut filter before the gain stage too but that's where the pre loop works well for me. The built in IRs work better than loading a third party IR into the VHX for me, and are great for low volume playing through the monitors, but I still prefer the sound from a mic'd cab or another load box into IRs. I was hoping they would sound better and could've been a one stop solution for recording at my studio. Cabs are doable for me, but not really practical in my situation, so I'm always looking for the next best silent record option. Still really thrilled with the amp overall and can see getting a lot of great use out of it.

red channel rhythm is too compressed for me, but yeah better than ch3 on my herbert MK1. on some days even the blue one is a tad to much, but on the others i love it.
I had to chose one: 2nd channel + boost. never though i say this a few years back.

i played around with the pre loop today. so all jacks have to be plugged for it to work as expected. i thought i could feed 2 signals on input and return and could switch between them, but the send actually has to be plugged into for it to work.

thanks for the heads up on the 3rd party IRs. that might have been my next step.

yeah, it's great exploring it, and i hardly plug into my other amps...
