Nice, congrats. Glad you like it, i couldn't get along with it. For the price, man it is such a solid built amp with some awesome features but I just couldn't get a tone that did it for me. I thought something was wrong with it because it sounded so weird to me but tech says no issues. Just wasnt my thing i guess.
Yeah.. I also feel like the Egnater is one of those Like/Dislike amps. its got so much happening, it could go either way really.
well im glad you like it. I think having the isp should be mandatory in every amp. Was seriously amazing to have that function.
oh Absolutely.. the ISP being built in so so handy. One less thing to carry or setup.

I have a armageddon. I turned the input switch thingy off. The one on top of the chassis that in the manual says "ODS/ODV". Made it sound less flat. I had to cut the fan ziptie to take off the back grill. Killer features. I don't like the tight setting, takes away low end balls, but doesn't tube scream it. I like boosting with an SD1. It seems to need active pups, too smooth. I'm still evaluating. I might mod to brighten, but that will be a major bitch, total spaghetti inside.
you know what.. I just looked on the manual and you're correct, there is a switch labeled "ODS/ODV". I actually like OD2 and OD3 with tight setting off. It sounds more punchy and heavier in my opinion.

Any idea what the "ODS/ODV" stands for or does?

Just did a further search and found this:
"The ODS/ODV switch selects one of two input circuits for the high gain channels only. ODV is the tube input path. ODS selects a really cool, high voltage input circuit that does a remarkable job of simulating the actual tube. The reason we have it in there is because of the unpredictable quality of tubes in general. That part of the circuit is most sensitive to a noisy or microphonic tube. By switching to the ODS setting, the first tube stage is replaced thus eliminating the headaches caused by bad tubes"

So for year's I've been a single guitar amp owner.. I may be one of few now days.. LOL.. BUT, fear no more.. a New (Previously enjoyed) Amp Day is here :D

Welcome to the family an Egnater Armageddon head.. Gonna plug it in tomorrow to give it a nice test run during rehearsal. Should be exciting.

If anyone owns/owned one of these amps, I'd love to hear your feedback.

Cheers

I'm going to revisit this amp....

I think Bruce is a legit mf 💯

I'll be jamming on the Egnater tonight.. I'll do a quick jam with the Splawn as well and get back to you guys with differences if I have enough time to do both.
Dude . Once you blend them and play both heads at once you will never hear your tone the same ever . Your two amps would be great together . Solawn crunchy tight ok too with vengeance blended in too add compression sizzle

That's awesome! I've always wanted to try one of these amps. Seems like you could cop some great tones with it. Thanks for the review.

I had an Egnater TOL-100 with TOS (Tone of Snider) mod and channel 3 was real good.
It wasn’t what most on here would like, more of a meaty Plexi tone with a ton of gain and sustain, not extremely tight, but fantastic feel and touch sensitivity.

Enjoy your new toy, Basher!
New amps are always exciting.
👍

I scored one of these from a bro for $800 with the ridiculous foot switcher.

Holy man.. blast from the past. Haha.

Unfortunately I ended up selling the Egnater amp to further simplify my rig and went back to using the Spawn Nitro.

The Armageddon and the Vengeance are both kinda hard to find. I've been hoping to find one for a while, and had no luck.

Congrats! I had the Armageddon half stack. Got it new. It was a gift. It had so many excellent features...very well thought out...but I just couldn't make myself like the dirty sounds no matter how I set the controls. Traded the head, kept the 4x12 cab.

I was running my ultra as my main and using the Windsor as a slave in stereo. Fuckin massive sounding by the way. I got the vengeance and used it as my primary and slaved the Windsor. Now I’m using the ultra as my main and slaving the eggie. Fucking old pv rips.

I love the Peavey Triumph series. A friend of mine bought one when they first came out in the 80's. He brought it over to show me. I figured it would sound meh at best because it was a Peavey, but damn, that amp had vicious tone. A lot of people rag on 'em, but they sound great to me. The right speaker (or speakers) make all the difference with those amps. James Brown, who designed those amps, says they get good early Van Halen tone when used with Greenbacks. I've never had the chance to hear the Ultra series amps. My Triumph run through my Egnater Armageddon 4x12 KILLS. (It has 2 G12T75's and 2 K-100's.)
