Today my Gower came in and all I can say is Holy Shit!
I had heard great things about it, but I genuinely think this amp has exceeded my expectations somehow.
Spec Wise I went all out as far as things that affect the Tone-these is from the invoice
JCM800 2203x
KK++ Mod
FTSW Deluxe Clean
FTSW Violence Mode
NOS Caps
SAT Switch
Mid-Shift Switch
Thump Switch
Glass Control
First of all, the clean is very much worth the price- its exactly what I like in a clean tone- warm lows with a sparkle to help the highs cut a bit more.
Gain wise, this amp does everything at a high level- from light breakup to djent. Rhe punch isnt quite wizard level, but its pretty close with the right settings, and it does everything else better. Before today I would say the Wizard Hell Razor and MI Megalith Beta were the only 10/10 amps that I've tried, but the Killer Kali definitely is in that tier as well. I would now have my top three as Wizard, Gower, MI in that order, with the Wizard doing one thing better, and the Gower doing everything else better imo. All three are undoubtably top tier amps that I would recommend to everyone. The wizard is less compressed and less forgiving for sure- but the gower is probably the easiest amp to play out of anything I've tried, and not in a bad way- its still not overcompressed. I think if I could only have one amp, it would be the Gower since its good at so much.
My favorite cab to play through has been my Zilla OS cab with Redbacks and H75 Creambacks- it handles the punch of this amp well and stays nice and tight.
I'll shut up now, but I cant recommend Gower enough.
