I’ll keep it brief since many other members have posted about theirs. I have no personal relationship with @RedPlated besides discussions on the forum. I got a MOAB mod second hand from a member who is a buddy. I am a modded Marshall guy but previous to this only one amp live up to the idealized sound of the modded Marshall tone—the Landry G3.
I plugged in my MOAB and could not be more pleased. There are a ton of options on this amp and none of them sound bad. All are very usable and sound great. It’s all taste. There is no “keep the amp between 5 and 7 on this setting and don’t use these others because it goes to shit.” There is a compression knob and it can make the amp sound super open/raw or compressed. To clarify, the compressed mode narrows the dynamics but it does not get the “blanket” over the speaker many compressed amps have.
It has every switch I would want. Depth, negative feedback, gain structure and push/pull to shift some of these options. The low gain also provides insanely great usable tones.
I am no longer wanting for the high gain Marshall tone. I have everything I need.
It is, legitimately, the easiest playing amp I’ve ever used. Hyper technical quick string switching riffs fly off seamlessly without any effort. No fighting the amp. My only issue is how I get a second one. Kudos @RedPlated , you beat out a dozen or so high end Marshall modders and makers for the sound and feel. I look forward to when my name comes up on a Hellion and want a custom headshell. Pry it from my cold dead hands.
