Maybe this is an obvious question but does the noise gate fix the problem for you? I don't find my BS to be overly noisy though...
Yeah the noise gate works fine I'm just wondering if there is a bigger issue with how much additional noise there is compared to my Orange. Also I believe running this through a guitar cab may filter alot of the noise I'm hearing as opposed to be my studio monitors. I can hear the noise prominently regardless of the cab model I use.

Hmm I'm not sure. It's hard to say from here. Is there a way to take it to the store to compare it to another unit?

Does anyone have any advice on how to set the Black Spirit 200 up so that a dirty/distorted tone cleans up by backing off the guitar volume knob, but WITHOUT a loss of volume? I have yet to find a way to get it to behave like a tube amp does when you have guitar volume at, say, half, and you crank the amp until it just starts to break-up...that's the clean tone, and turning up the guitar volume pushes the amp into distortion. It will do it, but with a huge difference in volume. I'd like to have the gain or distortion change with the guitar volume knob, but not the overall volume.....

Does your guitar have a treble bleed circuit on it's volume pot? I'm just taking a wild guess but if it doesn't have one, adding one might make a bit of difference in this regard. Really cheap mod so worth a shot...

Since there's a lot of talk going on about a "tube shortage" I thought it would be fun to revisit this amp with some high gain rock and metal tones in mind. Can this solid state amp do those tones just fine, or not? Let me know!

I have a friend that works for them and he is really digging the stomp man. He typically never tries to sell me on their stuff. I may check it out
