Congrats! Curious how you will like it and if it will be a keeper?

These amps seem to get flipped pretty frequently. Any reason why?

Not a clue honestly. Comparatively speaking they’re not that expensive. I got about an hour with it last night and loved it. I’ll get some clips up tonight.

I think maybe not having separate EQ’s for the 3 channels and at what many are paying used , it seems a little “not feature robust”?

Even if I paid what they go for used now (again… I got a killer price) I’d still feel it does what I want it to. Plenty of gain. Does NOT need a boost. Some have said it can get a bit “Fryette-like” with the Sat controls off, and I agree. A bit dry which I like. I think it does Ro into Extreme really well.

I loved it at NAMM and enjoyed it equally as much last night.

From what I understand, it’s a Plexi type with Mike’s Cali and Killer Kali++ mods on it. Not sure at all what Cameron’s amps were based on but Mike has done those mods for ages on Marshall’s. I only mention this because someone mentioned Cameron.

I can’t see myself flipping this, if I’m honest. Doesn’t feel redundant with the BE100.

So looked on closed reverb sales. Only 3 Cali's on there. None were my serial. 2 more for sale now and one is a resale of a previous listing. According to Mike, there were 102 made. I know there's also FB/eBay which I didn't. Not that this matters, FWIW.

I totally get why you say it doesn't feel redundant with the BE100. I had a Cameron HG Jose, currently have an older Cali mod, and had a friend's kitchen sink Marsha for a while. They're all modded Marshall variants, so on paper I'd assume they're only so different; however, you're not going to mistake one for the other once you plug in.

Probably just that there was a pretty big run of them all at the same time. Doubt they would be selling so often if they weren't a hype purchase

Ah.

I remember this amp.

Wish I had had a chance to play it.

I will look forward to your clips and happy new fortin cali day

I think Mike said they originally targeted 100 but made a few extra's with a total of 104 made. Just found his post on that, not sure why I thought there was more earlier lol... lack of coffee most likely :ROFLMAO:

Because they're too expensive. Can only speak for myself obviously. Definitely a killer amp and unique but after I got my Origin modded by monomyth at 1/3 of the price, it was pointless for me to keep the cali.

Slightly different amp, the Cali did one particular thing better (low tuned open djent notes sounded particularly excellent) but otherwise I much preferred the monomyth. Hell even my used $350 Peavey Ultra could hang. Unless you're a serious collector, care too much about boutique/hand made, have a ton of cash or got a super bro deal like Jer it's not worth that much money as you can get better (or different?) For much less.

Not purposely trying to knock it. It's definitely a killer amp just too expensive. If I got it for a lot less than I did I may have kept it because I did really like it.

I do have to disagree with the one post however as this amp definitely needs a boost to get it into ultra brutal territory. The other bad thing I found is it was ultra sensitive to speakers and I had to spend almost another 1k on a new cab/speakers to get what I wanted out of it. It loves G12H-30 anniversary speakers.
