Killer amp man, and i'm glad you like the guitar man, had to make sure it was right for you ! Cannot wait to hear it !

There is nothing like the sound of a hot marshall and tony has 2 of the best ones I have ever played....I played the friedmad for hours last night it is was like heaven and with no effects... just a PRS,15 ft cable and an ice cold diet coke.... AMAZING. Add a lifelong friend...PRICELESS. Good for you Anth, no one deserves it more

Thanks Mr Wilde...

I was an Honor to have you to break it in with me... You're a good friend, and the best guitarist I know!

I hear you were a sissy and wouldnt let Nick play it at the store

J/K. Congrats. You have a LOT of killer amps.

Yeah...

I had just picked it up from FedEx when I went by there, and had it in the car...

He was lucky I let him talk me into opening it, and letting him see it! :D

When I get a new amp that I know I'm gonna like it's like a Religous experience for me... It has to be under the right conditions...
My Cabinet, My Space & Acoustics that I know, and it wouldn't have seemed right to play it for the first time without Mr. Ronnie Wilde around!

It was Done Right!

the amp looks great, cant wait to get my super lead back from dave! Hope u can get some clips eventually. I am also curious to how u think this amp stacks up against the other voodoo modded marshall u had before?

JP,

Still Got that... I love all 3 of my amps, and my Bedroom Renegade 65w as well.

Others, EDIT: Danno Asked! END EDIT. asked the same thing, so I will try to elaborate... But The Friedman is not Broken in or Dialed in yet... It takes time to get a new amp sorted... but initially I can say this:

The 79' JMP HG JOSE Platinum has Mercury Trannies and a Circiut board as does the CCV. The 73' Friedman has stock Iron that might be even better, and it is point to point. The caps are not formed on the Friedman yet, and I have some funky EL34BSTR tubes in there, that I'm not familar with.

But right now as it sits, the Friedman has more Gain and Bottom end than the JOSE, which can only be a good thing for me, cause I'm Deep Punch Freak, It's Thicker, and Punchier.

Feel is slightly better with the JOSE, but again that can be contributed to the New Caps and Tubes.

The JOSE is More just a 80's Hard Rock Amp, and the Friedman can get a little more EVIL, and dip into the New Metal Territory... But IMO you need something Tighter For Speed Metal, so that fast Rythmm Chugging does not get Blurry and stays articulate...

That is where the CCV come in... It can do the 80's thing, Maybe not as great as the other two?? And, I give the Feel nod to the other 2. Again this is My Opinion, But the CCV is TIGHTER, So... you can do the Nu-Metal Stuff NO SWEAT... So ultimately the CCV will be a little more Versatile... It also Has that GRIND the others don't anyone who's played a Cameron knows what I mean

Also, the CCV Is MORE BRUTAL, And VIOLENT! With My CAMERON CAB w/ 4 CL80's It has so much Punch IT HURTS!

Bottom Line is They are ALL GREAT... Like Ice Cream but are all Different Flavors... Only you could know which one you like the taste of best! ;)

The Friedman Sure Is AMAZING, Time Will Tell when it's fully broken, and dialed in How Great It Gets...

Congrats with the gear ,but with all due respect, why do you keep signing all of your posts with RR or Roid rage :hys:

Cool, man!

I played a Marsha with the BE and SAT on it and it was fucking sick. IMO, it could easily do modern metal, and I am a tight low end freak like no other.

Just wait while I pick my jaw up from off the floor......

When you're ready to sell that Marshall, I'm ready to buy. Look me up......

Nice amp!

Killer...

I wouldn't dispute you! You're a great player... I've heard your stuff... BUT you have to read my Exceptions in the Critique. Really Weird Tubes That I don't know, and unformed Caps.

Nick Tells me those tubes have a WOOLY bottom end... FLUBBY, so yeah for speed metal that would account for it not being Ideal!

Can I ask what you paid for the head before all the mods???

Secondly, who's this re-tolex cat?? What was the cost on putting new skin on this head??

And a question to all the peeps out there who know amps, what year Marshalls are those that best have the circuitry capable of easy modification? As in p2p or turret style wiring? Please educate me on this - I'm pondering a notion.

Thanks man, and thanks everyone!!
V.

Bring Your Wallet, It's worth it!

The Early Super Leads and Plexis are the best sounding cause they are Point To Point, and have the Best Transformers... Although my Circut Board 79 JMP sounds insane but I have Mercury Magnetics Trannys...

The 69'~70' Is the PLEXI... Meaning it has the Plexiglass faceplate. They are point to point are are the cream of the crop... And you will pay for it... Look for Rust.

71'~72' Were the Last year for Point To Point Wiring.. BUT Some 73's are, And Some are not... I found one that was. You have to see the Inside to make sure.

I got my 73's for a Screaming Deal being it had no rust... The chassis is what I care about cause the Head Shell can be re-done. And I paid $1,400 But Like I said a Steal figure more like $1,800-$2,000. And way more for a Plexi...

And they can mod a circuit board Marshall easy... It's not that it's so much easier just IMO Sounds better without the signal going through tin foil Traces.

Best year ever. Man, I would love to hear this beast. One day I would like to do the same to a Marshall. Very killer.

sweet amp(and axe) dude! :D glad you love the friedman mod.i've been around & around with so many modded amps in the last 3 years and the friedman "ks" is truly TONE ;) the jose thing is cool & fun, every now & then, but i always gravitate back to pure-organic high-gain tone/feel....enjoy the amp!!!!!!

Never had the opportunity to play a Super Lead or a Plexi, let alone a modded one done right.

Congrats man, looks really good.

 Congrats Tony......Nick is the best at spotting guitars and amps for a guy, I have ever known. So I am not shocked your deal turned out this way. It works for me the same way every time I make a deal with Nick. Nick got me the plexi I had Jerry at FJA mod last year. :)
