Yeah, Halford 1-5.

I remember meeting him one day outside Subway. I guess he biking around, wearing his biker shorts and whatnot.
Seemed interested in the Laser disc I had.
Told him how great it was seeing him on the Screamin for Vengeance tour and the Victim of Changes middle part where his head was floating in a fog bank. Only thing you could see was Halford's head floating there with his diamond earrings gleaming.
I sang him that part for a bit.
It was pretty funny his look on his face when I did.

In no particular order:

Mike Howe
Hetfield
Mike Muir
Ozzy
John Bush

Halford (I mean his name is the Metal God)
Dio

These 2 should be at the top of everyone's list.

Geoff Tate
David Coverdale? Is he metal?
Dave Mustaine

Dickinson
Halford
Dio
Jon Oliva
Ozzy
Sebastien Bach

Jon Oliva is an amazing singer, and also thank you for understanding the assignment

Mike Patton is not a metal singer and this isn't an excuse to name everyones favorite ____ singer

Since all of the greats have been mentioned, I'll add a couple from more recent bands that I think are phenomenal vocalists:

Phil Bozeman - Whitechapel
Joe Badolato - Fit For An Autopsy
Spencer Sotelo - Periphery
Jonny Davy - Job For A Cowboy
Trevor Strnad - The Black Dahlia Murder

UDO
John Bush
David Wayne
Eric AK Knutson
Phil Anselmo

Nah, he was probably just grooming you. Trying to pick up some strange and "Eat Fresh" at Subway. You probably don't know how close you came to meeting "The Metal Rod".

I didn't say anything about Mike Patton???

I didn't say anything about Mike Patton?

No, you didn't, that's why I said "thank you for understanding the assignment"

someone else did, which is "not understanding the assignment"

In this particular order!

Halford
Dio
Dickinson
Chuck Billy
King Diamond

…in that order!
I was going to say Chuck Billy as well. He is a pretty amazing metal vocalist. Their early material to the change in the early to mid-90s is pretty. The Gathering is one of my favorite metal albums ever.

He may not be super heavy metal but I have always liked John Corabi's vocals for heavy music. From The Scream to his work on Motely Crue, he has a grit and power to his voice that sits in a mix well.

I just sat here and really tried to think of metal vocalists I really like....I just can't think of any. I think Geoff Tate is amazing skillwise. Mike Patton, but is he really a metal vocalist?

Excluded extreme type of vocalist

Dio
Rob Halford
James Labrie
Michael Kiske
Oliver Hartmann
