Nash Guitars

Played two years ago and wasn't impressed. I've played MIM Fenders that I liked much more.

They sure look cool but they are nothing special. He buys parts (Mighty Mite or whatever), assembles and ages the guitars.

I just ordered an S63 in daphne blue. I have played a few different pieces and they were all nice. The feel of the necks and the way they resonated sold me. You should try to play one of their pieces. Don't let opinions sway you,try one out.

I've played a bunch (still own one) and they've all been great. Very light weight and resonant, and they've all played and sounded really good. If you try a few, you could easily find one that stands up against some of the Fender Custom Shop stuff. (which I also own and am a fan of).

I love these, I have an s 81 that is amazing. There is more going on than just putting parts together. All the ones I have tried gave sounded and played great. The s81 is 22 fret with a floyd

These guitars have the Lollar Dirty Blonde pickup set in them right? How are you guys liking them? I was thinking of putting them in my EJ Strat.

They feel like junk to me. Pick up a suhr or anderson guitar after playing a nash and you will understand.

Hmm, like many here I'm sure, I own and have owned Suhr and Anderson guitars. My Anderson in particular is amazing in terms of playability and attention to detail (fretwork, finish etc), but there's a certain mojo that the Nash guitars seem to have that make them really fun to play, sometimes even more fun to play than the more expensive guitars that are better built in terms of precision and attention to detail.

They may not be for everybody, but I like them as much as any $3,000 + guitar I've ever purchased.

He's doing some amazing LP Standard relicing at the moment. I believe he buys a Standard, strips the finish, replaces the pickups with Lolars & reshapes the neck. Result is an amazing Standard.
There's a couple of Fleabay right now

$4K? Fook me.

It isn't fair to compare a Suhr or Tom Anderson to a Nash. Regardless of price range, and the fact that they both have a strat body shape, they are completely different animals for different players, and styles. While the Suhr and TA are precision instruments, they are not vintage sounding, or playing. The Nash captures old vintage Fender tones better IMHO that the other two. They may be more refined, some say sterile...although I love them, but I think are better suited for Jazz Rock more so then old nasty single coil blues tones. Something felt more authentic about the Nash 57 that I played. Here's a good analogy... It's like playing and old pain in the ass Les Paul vs a PRS Custom 22. The PRS is a much more refined instrument, but there is something special about the Les Paul's sound. Again just my opinion.

^^^ My thoughts exactly...

I had the chance to play 2, Nash S81's and they were just ok at best. No better than my MIJ Charvel San Dimas if I'm being completely honest. Definitely not 1k+ better.
