My son told me he wanted a guitar, so who was I to deny? Got him a mini strat (admittedly it’s still a bit big for him right now) in his favorite color.
As I teach him (and his little brother who doesn’t want to be left out) and we play together, I needed a new bass, as my jazz bass neck is too bowed to fix wallet-friendly. So with my wallet in mind I grabbed a Precision bass, which is compatible with my Babicz bridge. Made sure to check the neck very closely. GC had good deals this week and while I was tempted at the $699 Fender they had… it didn’t feel/play better to me at more than double the price.
Had a ton of pedals I don’t use and an old Carvin MTS combo, so traded them in. Bastards wouldn’t take in any more guitars, so still hitting roadblocks to unload my Vulture and Hellraiser… That Tele kept catching my eye so I played it and decided to use a little of the trade-in, since I’ve always wanted one anyway.
I’ve got a set of quarter pounders for the P bass headed my way.
Happy with the way they all play. Maybe once I get a law degree I’ll pay the big boy bucks for guitars.
