Scored this baby for a nice price. Its my first vintage cab I've ever owned and I couldn't be more pleased. I was on the hunt for G12-65's as I've alluded to in my 65 thread I started not too long ago. Ran into this cab since I heard these version T75's are pretty much the same as the 65's so I said screw it and grabbed it. It sounds so killer. All of my amps sound amazing through it. After comparing it with my other cabs through my amp/cab switcher, I can confidently say that these are without a doubt my new favorite speakers. I'm a greenback guy and these are like a more refined version of them to my ears. I have a Framus Dragon 412 loaded with greenbacks that I compared it to. Reminds me a lot like an M65 creamback but not as dull sounding. I'm surprised I must say because I really wasn't expecting them to sound that much different than a current T75, although I have read many forum posts that have said otherwise.

Now for my next experiment, I want to grab a set of the new reissue 65's and see just how close these speakers are to each other. Stay tuned...

Nice cab but those are nothing like ‘65’s or the early vented 75’s. Some prefer this cab actually over the vented 75’s. Malmsteen’s favorite cab…

Nice score. I picked up a JCM800 cab this year too, but it was loaded with 1975-76 Black Backs. Also, one of my favorite cabs.

Malmsteen likes the vents from what I read long ago....

They are in the same family for sure that perhaps the Mueller cone is responsible for. The 65's you posted seem to have a bit more mids. Great clips!
Very similar; had them both recently until I sold Dan my B cab. More highs, deeper lows with the 75s; 65s looser but better mids. 65s though REALLY wake up under heavy volume...almost like my old 72 cab with Pulsonics.
The second version without vents are nice too, like the OPs....not to be ignored, they can sound killer just a little more mid scoop compared to the vented version.
But, if any of you have a chance to buy an 800 cab with the first version Marshall Vintages (8ohm) DO NOT hesitate. It's almost like a 65 with the tightness of a modern V30 with smooth pleasant highs. Damn near perfect.

You guys are awesome. Making me feel much more comfortable about my purchase even though I wasn’t really worried to begin with haha.

I’m definitely looking forward to picking up a set of those new 65’s to compare. And yes I will post clips of both in comparison for sure👍🏻
