Mere mortal? Sure… Do I understand how badass that is? Absolutely… Lifelong fan. I’ve seen RUSH 13? times. I stuck with them through the “keyboard years” because the musicianship is hard to rival. Neil is arguably the best ever. Are new generations of percussionists on the same level? Sure. But they learned from, and are leaning on, the OG. Aside from being a great “drummer” (to me, that term diminishes his ability), he was a self-deprecating genius. I absolutely hate arrogance; he kicked ass throughout his entire career and never sought the limelight. See what I did there? 😀 RIP and kudos…
 
Peart's a great drummer but he's constantly overrated by fanboys who haven't seen enough serious drummers.
 
I always like rush until the vocals come in.
