I found that with the Dorado, I could get one really awsome tone out of it. I had to have the settings just right. If I moved anything even slightly from "the sweet spot", I'd lose it. I hated that. But I thought the tone I got when I had it set just right was pretty awsome.

Do you remember what settings you used? I know we play different styles, but your clips were good and would possibly help me find a better tone.
No, I don't, sorry. You do have the loop cranked all the way right? Or is it all the way down? I can't remember. It's one or the other though, just so you know. It's designed that way. I thought I kept my midsaround 11:00, depth kind of high, hmmmm......shit, I don't recall man.

Haha, it's cool. I'll mess with it some more tomorrow and try my OD808 with it. The loop needs to be cranked, yeah. Sounds absolutely useless if it isn't.

interesting. Never tried one, never even seen one.

what's next on the list?

Dunno man, nothing in particular. I didn't buy this to replace my 5150 or anything, I just hadn't tried out a new amp in a while and had been wanting to play one of these. :D

Yes....crank the loop for sure! If it's anything like my Makoplex, the presence and treble should be up about 3/4 of the way as well...

I'll give it a few more days, but I'm probably going to end up selling it. Oh and this is one of the PTP ones if anyone is interested.

Oh PULEEEEEEEZE!!!! You're selling the amp no matter what!

Yeah I figured that out already as well. I gotta say, this thing is pretty tricky to dial in for being a single channel amp!

You're right, but I still want to try and get it to sound better. :D

haha, ok. I guess at least you have the sense to hang onto the 5150 now...  now you just need to get a blackmore!

I just thought it sounded better in standard tuning. It sounded fine in low tunings, but I didn't think it was anything special for low tuned stuff.
I always think it's kinda funny when people just assume because an amp is tight, that it's gonna be great for low tunings. I don't find that the case at all. Just my opinion though. quote]

+1 Low tuned stuff doesn't sound quite right thru Mark series amps to my ears.

That was my amp too, it is noisy as hell at band volumes and not a real loud amp, I talked to Andrew about the noise issue, he told me he could fix it for $75.00, plus shipping to and from Texas...seems to me that a amp that cost $1800-2000 should be quiet or made right to begin with...and I wasn't very impressed with it, my MKIII blows it away, as did my old Blackmore.
