hugh jass, lol :lol: :LOL:

Great tone, and that axe looks freakin' sweet :inlove:

I'm surprised too. I'm glad though. I really didn't want to have to sell it and look for another combo. :lol: :LOL:

It's a great guitar. The neck feels so nice on it. There's a Charvel one on eBay right now for about $2200 and the maple doesn't look nearly as nice as the maple on mine. :thumbsup:

If you dont mind me asking, how much are those guitars anyways? I saw them new for a Insane price. Did you get yours used?

The Charvel ones are around $2200-2400 new. I have no idea how much the GMW ones were, Lee said only a few of them were made. I got mine for $1300.

Damn nice price, how can you tell if its a GMW or a Charvel?

The back of the headstock on the Charvel is signed by DeMartini and has the "this headstock is licensed under Fender guitars" thing written on it. The Charvel neck plate says Charvel on it, the GMW one is just plain black. Charvel uses brass strap buttons (which look retarded :lol: :LOL: ) and the GMW just has regular black ones.

I emailed Lee when I got the guitar just to ask him some stuff about it. Here's what he said...

"As for that particular model, we made a batch of them over a 10 year period, although it was probably around 10 or so. However, unlike our normal GMW and Empire guitars, none of those GMW Rock Replica guitars were ever serialized, so I'm not sure when it was made. As such, I'd ask Alex when he bought it. His name sounds familiar, so he's probably the original owner.

And the necks are usually not fully quartersawn, but they're not flat sawn either. Probably something in between, which is more than adequate. But just look at the grain at the end of the fingerboard. If it's straight up and down from the top of the board to the bottom, then that's 100% quartersawn. Anyway, glad you like the guitar. We stopped making them 2-3 years ago and will never return to making them again with a strat head. So don't sell it cheap.

Lee"

Nice, its cool how he can still give you info on the guitar. Man that thing will definitely go up in price. I've been thinking of trying out a GMW, but I can't find a used one anywhere, is there a forum that sells alot of them, they rarely show up on eBay either :confused:

I think there is a GMW forum, but I dunno where. Fiesta Red knows I believe, maybe PM him and ask. He was the one who found the one I bought and let me know it was for sale. It was on some private guitar forum of some kind. There was a GMW Schenker V on eBay a few weeks ago. I wanted to buy it real bad. :D :lol: :LOL:

While we're on the topic I might as well post some better pics of my GMW. :D

Sounds good Mark!...what mods have been done to your pedal?...did you have it done or DIY?

Megadeth7684":1r4xkrii said:
Yeah, my OD808 is modded as well.

Thanks man! Lordovchaos modded my OD808. I got the Chaos Mod for it.

"The Hugh Jass MOD

As the name implies this mod gives your pedal a bigger bottom! Overdrives have a filter that cuts out the low end below a certain frequency. I and many others think that this frequency is too high and doesn't really let the low end of your tone shine through ESPECIALLY if you downtune or play a 7-string! It still cuts out a little bass, that's part of why an OD pedal tightens up your tone. I just think that it cuts it out in the right place with this mod. Your pedal will sound fuller, bigger, thicker, fuller, and more powerful vs. stock.

Chaos Mod

The Hugh Jass mod, and more!

* More clarity
* BIgger, tighter, more refined bass response
* Improved dynamics
* Cleaner tone when the drive is at zero, great for a clean boost!
* Better sounding, fuller, more tube-like clipping
* More available volume to hit your amp HARD!"

Thanx for the info!...I'm checking out his site now. http://www.bodenhamer-electronics.com/

Sounds good. What made you choose this over the Boogie Mark III you were originally thinking about getting?

Pretty much just the fact that Mark III combos are going for almost a grand now. I'm very glad I didn't pay that much considering I got this for half that.
