im sorry but the einstein is far from being "cheap". its an awesome boutique amp thats just a little softer on your check book than the VH4 and Herbert, it can still compete with those two. i can get awesome tones ranging from jazz to blues to classic rock to alternate rock to metal on the first channel, and insane screamin leads on the second. you can have your opinion, but dont say its lacking in quality, its a lot better quality than marshall could ever deliver.

Hey Dennis!
Get your ass in your car, a have a ride to my lounge! Then I´ll show you something bout "Steini´s" quality in sound! It´s 100% Diezel Sound in a reduced to the max Amp!

IMHO on of the best amps if you´re used in playing 1 channel Marshalls, and you´re looking for some more!

cheers, "ACY"

hey acy ,
thats what i reckon - ive always played marshalls , and the einstein completely wipes the floor with them .
ive extensively auditioned all the current crop of contenders - mesa/krank/engl/H+K , etc .( in fact ive regularly done this for the last 10 years or so , searching for a marshall replacement ) .
none of them come close to the diezel imho .
its obvious why the einstein costs a little less than the other diezels , and also quite apparent that the quality is the same across the range .
:)

I own an Einstein 100 Head, but I also own a rack with a Marshall JMP-1 preamp and an Engl 2x35 power amp with EL84s.

I must say, that my rack clean sound is nothing to talk about, Diezel wins.
But the distortion sound is more brutal and direct than my Einstein.

But overall Einstein "sounds" a lot more than my rack does.

I would definitely say that with a Diezel amp you get an outstanding sound with which no Marshall can ever compete.

It sounded muddy and unprecise with every setting... cheaper but every company has expensive and cheap amps and the cheap ones often lack in quality and sound.

I don't know what this guys been smoking or drinking, but I've owned my Einstein 100 Watt for almost a year now, and It's definately not muddy and it has tons of definition. It totally kicks royal ass! :D
