New amp - Herbert, VH4S or VH4

Herbert. I bought a VH4 and am now thinking of switching. The Herbert seems to do better overall and evidently you can get VH4 tones with the Herbert.

I had no problem sounding darn close with my herbert on 2+ with no mid cut, to the VH4 I had a chance to play side by side. Was it exactly the same sound? No, could you tell the difference with a drummer, bass player, and vocals added to the mix, I doubt it.

For me, at least, I'm all about mids. Side by side the Herbert couldn't match the VH4 in mid-voicing. VH4 on channel 3, everything at noon vs. Herbert Channel 2+ with the mids maxed out and everything else dialed in for a similar sound. Herbert just sounded thin, or at least voiced vastly different - enough so that the decision to go with the VH4 was obvious based solely on that fact.

I have decided to go with the Herbert and I can't wait till the cash is collectect!!
