My first Mesa. Damn is all I can say, It chugs. I can feel it and it sounds great.

It didn't turn my amp into a Cameron or anything but I would have to put this cab up there as one of the few best I've had. Would love to A/B with my old Mills cab but I'm pretty happy with the purchase.

The cab is dated on my birthday on the year 2000. I haven't opened the back yet but I have no doubt the original V30s are there.

I did want the Traditional cab instead of the OS but this is what I could find for a fair deal and i love the way it sounds. Not boomy at all and it feels right. Pairing with a Peavey 3120. Came with casters but not on yet.

I really love my traditional cabs man, I did own an oversize and to me it was more beamy and harsh to my ears.

Would still like to try one but this sounds damn near perfect for me. Need to spend more time with it, just got here a few minutes ago.

Looks nice! I have a small 1 speaker Mesa cab with an angled front. A mini version.

I prefer the oversized Mesa cabs. The traditionals sound too dark to me and the oversized seems to liven things up just right. I’d love to own two oversized Mesa cabs with V30’s.

Great cab and jealous! I’m sure it adds a level of modern touch that can’t be rivaled easily

Always wanted to try a mesa. But goddamn i love my mills
Yeah man, it's gonna be impossible to compare. Sold my Mills a long time ago but the Mesa does not disappoint.

FWIW, the Traditional cab I find is actually boomier than the Recto cab, personally. At least under the mic. The Recto cab pushes the low-end further down the spectrum where it's nice and weighty. The Traditional has more stuffy low mids that I feel boom a bit more and are cloudier with most amps.

It also opens up the top-end compared to the Trad, which counters the low and low-mid stuffiness.

JMO.

Yeah im sure everyone has their own experiences. I've played one other OS cab several years ago. Not sure what year it was and to be honest I was "told" it was the OS so I can't even confirm that but that cab was definitely boomy with my Rev 2 Uber but sounded perfect with the JP2C. I think the OS is just widely recognized as boomy in general.

Never got to try a Traditional as far as I know but this cab works with the 3120 im using.

Nice. I keep thinking I need some Mesa cabs. I never see good deals on them around me.

mesa just makes good shit. tell me about that pv dude....

Well it wasn't a steal but a fair deal in my opinion. Got it from Guitar Center for $825 shipped total.

I'm in the Midwest, there's definitely a few around and some even cheaper but driving all day long to save $100, meh.

There's one on craigslist in Northern Arkansas for $450 but it's like a 2008 I believe and after going down the John Browne and Nolly Rabbit hole I had to get the early 2000s cab.

I've been watching them for a minute, GC had one for $650+ but it was gone pretty fast.

Assuming the Peavey amp you're talking about. It's mean dude. Very straight to the point, the eqs are very interactive.

I can't say it's the most amazing tone in the world but for the type of music I play it's pretty ideal. Not to mention the price on the used market.

I've owned the ultra plus 120 and a couple of different 6505 heads as well as the 5150 2x12 and I prefer this over them all. The distortion is mean but tight/not fizzy/too gainy and not all over the place of that makes sense.

One of the few amps I actually use as intended because I much prefer the rhythm channel over the lead channel for rhythm which is probably a first for me. I haven't really experimented enough with the cleans or lead channel yet though.

There's also a 3 way toggle on the back, tight/loose/medium or something. I'm sure more experienced users can explain the amp better.

The biggest con is more of a pet peeve for me, I don't like the chassis layout. The preamp tubes are a nightmare to get out and pretty inconvenient to access. But it's an old amp I guess idk. I've heard others say it can do blues and rock but for a pretty low cost metal amp I think I made a good choice.

If you were asking about the cab....it's listed for sale locally  not bad really but not as good as the Mesa.

Congrats!

Mesa cabs are great. Had both types, liked both. Traditional is tighter, brighter to my ears but the OS is a steamroller and still tight enough for anything I like to play. Might grab another OS at some point to go with the MT 100.

Congrats bro

Can't say I had much time on an OS but love my Trad. I had always heard the OS was boomy and hard to control.
