Thanks guys. We were tracking a new much more rockin tune tonight and spent alot of time on mic placement. The double tracked combo of EG5 and E-Rect was absolutely huge. Im excited for you guys to hear it for comparison. I think its a big improvement. MOD 50 for recording is unbeatable. Youd have to have so many heads at your disposal to get such varied yet awesome tones.

Thanks for listening and I appreciate all the feedback.

Does anything sound off on these recording? What should we really focus on doing better with the next batch?

I had the chance to spend a full day with thee "Michael Jackson" back in the day. Also good friends with then pres Don Dempsy of Epic records (MJ's label)and had many conversations. For each CD (album back then) they would have 30-50 masters cut to choose from - and.... each song would have had gone through 4 demos by the time it made it to the master, with the same studio musicians. Thats why when it hits the radio it explodes.

Interesting-when they promoted "Beat iT" they sent the single to all the white rock stations saying that Eddie Van Halen was featured on it. But...... they purposefully Left MJ's name out and said the singer was a mystery artist. The stations loved it like crazy. At that time,Epic knew they would have never played it if the knew it was MJ

Incredibly, Don handed MJ his first royalty check from "Thriller" to the tune of 17 million. My sis got an invitation to that party in NY and the invitation had come in the mail written on a white glove.
