I agree with your assessment!
I know you have discerning ears so your input means alot.:2thumbsup:

I feel the 10/15/77 album release party show I feel is most likely for him to be using what he used in the studio to record VH1 since they had just gotten done recording weeks/days before those fall 1977 show.

As Ed grew tired of the aggressive, grating, overly crunchy characteristics of the MM and not liking what he heard on VH1 which he stated in many interviews I think he swapped to the PAF at least by the time the Selland arena show happened in 9/22/78. That show proabably sounds the best out of all the boots I've heard like England and Japan boots.

Anybody else care to weigh in on what they think Ed is using in those two shows I posted?

10/15/77 Mighty Mite 1400 (9k)

What's fascinating about this is listening to him struggle with the Strat tremolo, to keep it in tune.

Changing chord voicings/positions on the fly due to tuning instability - all while bending strings and dropping the bar to attempt to get one or more strings back into tune - all while playing the fucking song without missing a beat.

:rawk:

Saw a yt'er make a good case he used a duncan custom. Awesome pickup anyways.

I have a frankie pickup and its a CC with an aged A2 mag. It sounds wonderful! Not yhis pickup though.
