New from PRS - SE NF3

I've never been super impressed with the prs nf pickups, but that's cool they made it available for an SE so people can try it out for themselves without selling a major organ for a core series modern eagle

They'll be dumbed down and made in Korea and sound like shit like all their SE's and S2's. That's the first thing to go in their cheaper guitars, IMO. Their import version pickups are awful.

I was under the impression they were putting the real deal pickups in this one? You're probably right though, I fucking hate every pickup i've ever played in an S2 or SE

When he said "S" pickups, I assumed they'd be import knock-offs. Their import pickups do suck, but their USA 57/08's are my favorite "PAF". They rock with great clarity. Pricey too.

They're good for sure. I prefer godwoods for PAF style, but 5708s and 57 classics are both great "in house" PAFs

Either way, if PRS doesn't put the real deal narrow field pickups in this, this is gonna be an epic fail for them, judging by their past track record with import pickups

I've never been super impressed with the real deal ones anyways

The 57/08's were the first PRS pickups that made me go "wow"! Agreed, they are fantastic PAF style humbuckers.

I have on OG NF3 and love the narrowfields in that guitar: clear and punchy. The bridge pickup actually rips for high gain stuff!

You are right though; these won't be USA pickups in this guitar and sadly, the import pickups don't hold a candle to the USA ones.
 
Nothing says NOT COOL like a PRS headstock. On a strat it is even worse. It could be the best playing guitar in the world and i am never touching it. Screams dork.

I wonder if PRS sells USA made Narrowfield pickups.

They should paint it black on their maple necks. I don't like the plain maple look either. Headstock doesn't bother me, just looks off on the maple. Especially the backwards Silver Sky with that hideous truss rod cover. Fuck no.

There are a bunch of PRS SE's that I really want to try, but I don't wanna take a gamble. PRS SE's quality control has been very hit or miss in my experience. It's weird because everyone on teh YouTubez says they're so great, but I've had a bunch, and many of them have had flaws and/or really underwhelming figured tops.
 
Not much love for PRS lol. I could give two shits about the pigeons and the headstock for that matter. My #1 is a Core Tremonti hardtail and it absolutely slays. Super comfy and excellent build quality. I also have an SE Holcomb that rips. Had to replace the shitty stock nut but oh well.
 
I have owned a few PRS SEs and sold them without any regrets.

SE line just sucks ass, imho.

And PRS can stuff the S2 line up his greasy arse.....fucking korean shit pickups and hardware, for over $2k......

S2's now come with American PRS pickups:
