New Guitfiddle... What pickups?

Having gone through hundreds of pickups over the years I find the Mule and other BKP’s honestly a bit sterile/2D vs other pickups. Wagner’s are really good vs what most discuss on here, but far from the best pickups I’ve tried. My recommendations:

If it has to be something current made: Tone Specific 1958 Twang-Tron set

Ideally: ‘60’s Gretsch Supertron’s (‘70’s are very good too), ‘50’s Gretsch PAF’s, ‘70’s/‘80’s Tim Shaw PAF’s

If you want hot: ‘70’s Bill Lawrence L90, L100, ‘80’s Dirty Fingers

If you want more affordable: ‘60’s/‘70’s Hagstrom humbuckers, ‘70’s Japanese PAF’s, ‘80’s Schaller PAF types

I would stick with something from DiMarzio because that Les Paul would look badass with double creams in it IMO.

I usually put 550k potentiometers on my guitars that use humbucker pickups. Sometimes I feel like some pickups sound too bright, but I think they bring out more of the pickups. And I like the Tonepros bridges. The aluminum bridge with brass saddles will give your guitar a bright sound and rich resonance.

I just got a nice purple dimarzio super distortion with gold pole pieces for the neck of my Edwards LP. Probably put it in this week some time.

I've got a set of SD Seth Lovers in my LP Standard and I like them a lot. Old-school LP tone without the mud.
