Gun peep here. Congrats on the new firearm. I just got a S&W Shield Plus. Bass ass 9mm micro pistol. Nice and smooth.
Nice one. I have the S&W M&P 40. Also recently picked up an S&W 8 shot 357 and a Model 29 44.

the new sig military round is very interesting....along with the polymer cases....when I heard 6.8 I thought ugh....because of the 6.8spc...but I guess they have done something totally different with it. really interested to see when they will introduce it to the civilian market.
I just saw some info on the new sig that will supposedly replace the M4, its actually pretty impressive. 2800 fps out of a shorter suppressed barrel, the 6.8X51 rd has a stainless steel bottom section that will accommodate 80,000 psi in the chamber, and will penetrate any current body armor. These are of course military rounds, not sure what civilians will have access to yet. AR's run in the 50-53,000 psi in the chamber at around 2800-3200 fps, depending on the load and the length of the barrel, for comparisons sake.
I can see it being applied within a team context, but the verdict is still out on replacing the M4 variants, you can carry twice the 5.56 ammo that you can the new guy, and the sig mags appear to be 20-25 rd mags and they are quite a bit heavier so you can only carry so much of it.
If you are in a setting that will require your team to put down suppressive fire on a group of morons you are trying to move in on, the new sigs are gonna blow through that pretty quickly, but having a few of the sig spears on the team would be a definite plus.
I can assure you that ammo will be stupid expensive, for longer than any of us hope..
Just thinking out loud....
Time will tell

Yep, that's a great carry gun (y)
Surprisingly accurate too
Im looking at S&W's new CSX as a carry gun, a buddy just got one so I had a chance to run it a bit. I love that thing!
Its a lot slimmer than the boxy sig 320 Ive carried for years, but it does carry less rounds

Anyone shot or own the VP9SK from H&K? Really like the way it feels in the hand. Just ordered a Canik as Range and HD gun but liking the H&K for possible CC.

just picked up another marlin model 60 .22.....love them little things...and no magazines for my kids to lose....lol.....and aluminum arrows with an ear plug(cut to size) in the end make perfect speedloaders for tube fed .22's.....just sayin....

Speaking of .22 - yellow #4-6 drywall anchors make excellent dummy rounds for dry firing ;)

Grabbed this Marlin 336Y in 30-30 from my buddy. About as close as you can get to a semi auto for home defense here in Aus, without jumping through an incredible amount of hoops.

Do you need to do the lever action every time to chamber a round?

I'm not a sub compact guy, but I own some HKs, including a VP9. In my opinion the VP9 is the best " All around" striker fired pistol made today. Out of the box the triggers are very nearly as nice as the Walther Q5 trigger. Utterly reliable handguns. Though my current favorite is a P30L with the Grayguns trigger.
