New John Sykes Eddie Trunk story.

I like Eddie Trunk and think he is just himself. He can be slightly annoying sometimes but it is just because assumes everyone knows this stuff already. He gets annoyed with callers and forgets they don't eat and breathe rock knowledge like he does.

Agree. Dude knows a lot about the music industry. Also knows quite a bit about guitar given he doesn’t play. He’s one of the few championing guitar driven music.

I knew a guy that had a PhD in Engineering and a PhD in Law but he didn't know how to put on a closet doorknob.

Eddie is just like most D.J.’s The show they do is about them, not the guests. Metal Show was non stop, verbal diarrhea from Trunk on everything and everybody he already knew, to where most guests are just answering “yeah”, “sure” “Uh Huh”. Same with his radio stuff. Start to ask a question, that would turn into a monologue including 3 suppositions on the answer, so by the time the guest speaks, you forget what was asked or why you even tuned in just to hear “yeah”
I’m always amazed by interviewers who have the confidence to keep the questions more short annd simple and entice the guest to elaborate.

Listened to it this a.m.
It’s interesting; a lot of truly talented individuals seem to be their own worst enemy.
Listened today as well. 'Though it was a great listen.

I like the story of how the Winery Dogs came about after JS melted down and couldn't get it together with MP and BS..
I think a lot of people that catch a wave of fame and talent early in life lag behind in normal interactions and relationships. ET said this kinda thing is real common in the music world..

It was a good life though. He didn't need to work and got to stay home and do whatever being world renown.. Not a bad life. RIP..

Yeah, even with what I said above about Trunk, I think he did a decent job of retelling the story and it was insightful, even if his Sykes impression sounded like recycled Ozzy 😂
