It's sad when the last amp you built that revolutionized the musical world was in the late 70s. The sad thing is that if they would simply do a higher gain version of the 2203, it would sell like crazy.

They 'kinda' did with the KK....the one I had sounded dead nuts to a Cam Aldrich I had. Cool amp.

But, a real Jose from the Marshall factory would be tits.

Marshall as it is now doesn't give 2 shits about boomers or the people that put them on the map.
They're too busy scheleping piss color cosmetics.
Marshall has sold 3 times since ole man Jim passed. Their fate is the same as Mesa.
If you want something done right you gotta do it yourself.

The Slayer amp?? I thought the only difference was 6550s and a built in noise gate...

It had "beast mode" which was diode clipping i believe.
KK use EMG's so im sure that worked good.

If McDonald's commissioned a Marshall amp, it would look like that, plus some golden arches

Dude his tones were all fender on the one album he’s known for .
Odd pairing with those colors

Yep, the Slayer amp.....engage Beast and it's an onboard boost; the noise gate is great(Fortin copied it for the Zuul) and if you boost it even more with an OD it becomes a monster.

A lot would argue that Friedman isn't doing it right either. His mods are soft sounding and polished. He's lost the rude that people want in the amp. I think it's a no brainer to do a hot rodded series but Marshall feels they have it covered with the JCM900's, the Jubilee's, the JVM and the DSL. It is only a specific bunch of nerds that want a " Jose Master" or half a tube gain stage added.
