MURDERATOR
Sometimes marketplace deals don’t happen so… hopefully not jinxing myself. Getting an older kinda beat 1960 with 75’s. Interestingly… I have never had one of these before (with 75’s), and I’m sure I have played with them before I can’t seem to recall when. Oddly enough all my Marshall cabs have always had other speakers. Ev12l’s or v30’s. And this is the last piece of the puzzle needed to set up my w/d/w rig. Anyway I’ll report back when I have it… hopefully…

They're not that bad can be a little dark / scooped. But with a brite mid heavy amp just crank it.
Most shows that gig with rental gear play 1960 T-75's and do fine.

It will be used with my pre that Wayne built for me. I’ll be running it into the loop of my Windsor. The Windsor itself is kinda dark but when I was running it I had the ohms on 8 instead of 16. Duh 😒 my pre is based on the vh4 channel 3 but with a really huge phat ass… she’s thicc like a bowl of oatmeal….

Well fuck you and your plastic handles Marshall. Dude broke it pulling it out of the back seat of his Cadillac cts…. Fit perfect in my armada platinum….you know-first world problems….when Trump is sworn in he should put tariffs on all Marshall cabs with plastic hardware. MCHMA!!!! Make Cab Handles Metal Again!

people told me for years the 75's sucked, so I avoided them. Picked up a JCM900 cab last year w/75's, and it sounds great with my amps. Old beat up cabs are the best, someone did all the break in work for you! As my cabs are approaching the 15-20 yr mark, they are all sounding better these days IMO. That or I'm getting more deaf and less picky, lol.

I have a Ampeg Lee Jackson 4x12 from the early 90's with 75's. It's stuck around and I gigged the dogshit out of it forever.

I bet it sounds fantastic too.

You see Jeremy's Metaltronix in the classifieds? :p

I just scored a beat to shit JCM800 slant with vented 75’s. Killer speakers that are comparable to vintage G12-65’s.
We compared my cab to my buddy’s ‘78 65 loaded Marshall, and the 75’s had lower mids, with more punch in the lows and aggression in the highs. I wouldn’t say better, but every bit as good, and the two cabs together were sick.

Can you date that speaker?

Celestion chart is confusing. T gives it a 1985 designation. Then theres another one that says mid 2000’s. It would be cool if it were the vented ones.
Edit- I was reading the wrong line…🤪

April 8th 2005…..correct? Are these the famous vented ones or non vented? I assume non….
08DQ…

forgot to mention, you might want to crack her open if she is an older cab. I picked up the A and B because they were going so cheap. I went through them, and made sure the wiring and everything was good. What I noticed, is the majority of the screws holding the baffle, speakers, brace, etc. were loose or just not tight in both cabs. Obviously you know not to crank down on the speaker bolts, but these were finger loose. It's worth checking them out.

Where can I get replacement metal handles at? That fit…

Yeah JBT, definitely crack it up open and inspect the wiring and screws. And while you’re in there you can check the center of the magnets for vents. I believe they were only vented for two years. ‘84 and ‘85 to my knowledge.
