New pedal day! Any guesses???

I wouldn't have thought of guessing a Metal Zone, but I'm not surprised actually and think I hear it now (partly from that cocked wah quality). I've used stock Metal Zone's as a boost when I had one and was able to get sounds I liked with it. I never thought it was a bad pedal like many internet guys try to make it seem, but my favorite Boss pedal is still my 1980's MIJ HM-2. Not many situations where it's useable, but when it is it's imo glorious in it's own terrible way lol, especially through my 1972 SuperLead 100 (monstrous through that)

Yea I dig it! I’ve always wanted a Keeley mt-2, it definitely is great. The goods are of course in the parametric eq section, really great input shaper, and the clipping on it is different than other overdrives as well. Cant wait to do some death metal reamps with it.

I could be wrong, but I think it is. It's the thick saturation and character of mids that sounds like it to me. You can do some gnarly stuff to the mids with the eq on that pedal.
Nice guess dude! Hahaha.

I remember someone on HCAF back in the day (not RaceU) boasting about it as a boost and I found one used on the cheap at GC to try it. I was actually very pleasantly surprised! I actually used it as a boost live twice. Sure its not always the best solution for everything since its an actual full on distortion pedal, but that adjustable mid frequency, albeit super sensitive, was super useful. From that point I was always annoyed that pedal companies weren't designing boost/od pedals with an adjustable 3 band eq for full flexibility. I could be wrong but I think SD 805 might have been the first OD pedal to offer that.
