Personally I think the DiMarzio Evo 2 is a very well rounded pickup. Also try a SD Custom Custom SH-5

Nah, the Aldrich would be way too bright in that guitar I think. I'm not sure what I would put in it.

Whats woods does the guitar have?

My GMW has the Aldrich in the bridge and its not too bright, its real punchy and tight :)

You should give the Seymour Duncan Holdsworth a go sometime.. i know you loved Doug's Evil Or Divine tone and thats what was in his strats

I have allmost zero info on the guitar, but i'm guessing it's Alder. I think i need to replace the pickups in my PRS too. I was thinking about the Aldrich's for that. ;)

I think the Aldrich's will suit almost anything well.. i mean they work just aswell in a strat as they do in a Les Paul, so that says a lot!

dude,man...my suggestion is Dimarzio's BREED "neck" model pickup.it's their secret weapon that most guys are unaware of.i have one in my '91 Ibanez RG565 & love it.it's an alnico v magnet,10k wound(modern, yet vintage tone),very clear, great mids/low-mids,sweet-singing rounded highs, tight lows, punchy, grindy, growly, not thin or too thick and versatile! tried the Tone Zone, but it was too muddy, not very clear, imo.tried many Duncan's too,but for some reason Dimarzio's seem to sound great in Ibanez guitars...just my 1 1/4 cents!!! ;)

After playing in a band for a month now, I now realize that the Ibanez sounds a bit too thin
to my liking. I have a Dimarzio Evolution in the Bridge and a PAF pro in the neck.

The guitar has a maple neck and a mahogany body. The maple neck makes it a bright guitar.
I've been on a Dimarzio kick but Im willing to consider both Dimarzio and Seymor Duncans.

What I want is a fatter sound, a great bass response and a tamed high frequencies.

Is there such a thing?

Have you tried just lowering the pickup a bit? That should tame the highs some. You might not like the output difference though...

These pickups are screwed right in the guitar.

Even screwed down, there should be room for adjustment via a spacer under the pickup. You might be able to screw it down tighter, or change the spacer to a thinner one.

I can raise it but not lower it. The cavity is not deep so the pickup is already sitting on the bottom.

On Ibanez guitars, when they're screwed to the wood, there is VERY little room for pickup height adjustment, especially on the newer guitars.

Gotcha. Well that's dissapointing.

Fortunately there are tons of great pickups you can drop in.
