I wonder if DeYoung will sell the real transformers? That would be really cool. Good luck with the project. Keep us updated with clips.

I've thinking about doing a plexi kit. Any recommendations?

Is the pcb part as easy as soldering a resistor or whatever onto a pedal? Also im waiting for my account to be activated on the forums.. is there a good walkthough thread anywhere about putting this thing together? I've been wanting to build an amp and this might be the route I choose to go. Newb at amp building.. but not really a newb at soldering or anything like that.

Theres not really a "walk-thru" perse but definetely more than enough info on the forums to get your there if you have even a basic knowledge and a little experience.

sweet... for the budget build its going to only run around $600-700. I think I am going to go for it. Just need to get my registration through on the forums so I can get the pcb's ordered :D (you did order that from a guy on the forum right?)

Yea, I ordered them from "smashguitars".

I was gonna go the "budget" route, but thought fuck it if I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna order as many "top quality" parts as I can for it. a couple hundred more aint gonna kill me.

:D

It will kill me.. especially since it probably wont end up working :D

Google Weber Speakers, then click on Kits. It's t the bottom right, called the "Heather"

Do you want to know some tweaks for the improveable SLO circuit, Mike? :D

Didn't Kannibul build the Heather and had lots of problems with it, and incorrect/missing parts?

Dunno..... I havent heard much about that exact kit, but heard decent reviews on the others.

I either need to take a dump, or I have GAS for a Heather!

Where can I have one made? I'd like the full out mods that (Sold @ ho) uses. Depth, h@yes, crunch, kt66's, loop, you know the works, but I want the "good parts" in it. I've been wanting another SLO for a long time, I just don't want to drop $2000+ on one.

Yep. Schematics kept changing, parts included weren't correct, schematics were also incorrect (bias circuit, namely), standoffs were too short, took them several months to get the headshell to me and a few other things.

Asked about it on the weber forum and SLO forum asking for help and Ted went ballistic and refused to help. Blamed me for the bias circuit not working...when I clearly followed the schematic I had as well as the one that was on his website. Next day it was changed/updated, with additional parts in the schematic - I ended up rigging it to where it'd be right by flipping around a few components.

I eventually got it all working, but then solid it to Pete (Stratotone) for what I paid for it. It had a humming issue that I couldn't figure out, and with everything else, I decided to just get rid of it.

I will never buy anything from weber again...
