Also, I have that Antone 2x12" that's not in that picture. I have it over at the rehearsal place for now. I've thought about getting an oversized Bogner 2x12" many times and trying to gig with that, but I haven't been real happy with anything less than a 4x12" cab for years. It kinda sucks, because it is a pain in the ass to carry one of those up the stairs, stuff it in the back seat of my car, carry/roll it into the club, etc... But the tone is worth it for now. :)

Since having to downsize to a sedan recently, I want to try an oversize 2x12 myself :). My Mesa 2x12's are similar in dimension to your Antone I believe (or close to it), my 4x12's are pretty much home only for the time being now.

Nice looking gear, you must like hauling those 412's :D

I guess I am just used to smaller cabs, I have some great sounding 212 and 112 cabs. I currently only have 1 412 and its a beast to move. Metal grill mesa 412 with 2 EV's. No question that 412's sound good though, I find that the smaller cabs work fine for me....

Awesome, Chris.
But........
Love the Tele, it just needs a date with the router for a humbucker and Floyd!!!!

NONSENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do have a design for a custom Tele in my head, though. No Floyd, but it does have a bucker in the bridge. I'm going to use that computer design website to make a picture of it sometime. I'm going to build it at some point.

Chris

I had a '69 Tele that I routed out for a humbucker and Badass bridge. I was real happy with the improvement. I had lent it to my brother for a little while but then he went through a nasty divorce, etc. and throught the whole deal it was "lost" by his ex.
I've got a custom in mind as well, I've been talking with GMW for about a year, I'm gonna plunk down the deposit real soon.

Great looking rig

I have no doubt you can cop all of the tones that count anyways with those amps/guitars

Stat/Tele/LPs = all teh tones

Hey Thump, how does the Marshall cab compare to the VHT cabs?

Sweet! Now all you need is a Framptone amp switcher so you can hear the PM and the Deliverence roaring at the same time...

Steve

real nice collection.. now all you need is a 335 and an AC-30

LOL! I would love to add a 335 to the collection. I don't have much time on those guitars, but I know I just NEED one. :)

LOL!

Seriously, do it!

That's a great looking rig Chris! I would love to try a Mojave someday.

Okay, so I just spent a few minutes comparing the Mojave with a VHT Deliverance cab and the Marshall cab at stage volumes. The VHT cab is darker (that surprised me), has more lows, less mids, and is definitely much tighter sounding. The Marshall cab is just like you'd expect, more "vintage" sounding with "mushy" lows and more mids. By "mushy", I don't mean bad. That "give" feels great when playing and sounds good for hard rock!

But yeah, the Peacemaker sounds like two different amps through these cabs! Also remember that the Marshall is a slant and the D412 is a straight.

All the more reason to own different cabs with different speakers, they act as a multiplier effect on the different tonal variations that your amps can produce.

fuggin-A that Create powerblock is da bomb, got any better pics of that baby?

I really dig that rig Chris. I've always dug your taste in equipment and I certainly hold your reviews of equipment in very high regard.

I'll get some pics of my rig up here in the next week or so. I used to have a rig that looked like some back room from NASA but i've simplified ALOT the last few months. (wish my damn Grendel Dead Room would get here too)

later

P.S. I LOVE the Plank Kranker. It has exceeded my expectations completely and has earned a permanent place on my pedalboard...thats VERY hard to do. In the future, if there's ever any other offers for another Rig-Talk/HBE collaboration count me in.
