Yeah, I have to say mine's probably pushing 8-1/2 plus. It's not quite as heavy as my LP Standard, but it's certainly the heaviest Super Strat I've ever owned. And, the neck is silky smooth.I bought the hardtail version a couple months ago and it was everything I wanted a super strat to be minus a few things. Mine was heavy at 9lbs for a strat but completely usable since I am a Les Paul guy mainly. I found the pickups to be a bit harsh but nothing that I probably couldn't dial out on the amp. The killer for me was the neck. I loved the feel of the wenge and the SS frets but this one had shaved too much of the shoulders off between frets 1 and 5 and it was a bit thin up there as well. Other than that, I found it to be an excellent guitar. Way better than I expected actually.
I find absolutely no high frequencies or harshness, whatsoever. In fact, I had to goose the treble a hair on my Friedman PT-20 V2. But, I also have 2 Creamback-loaded Friedman 1x12's, and those, (even being new), are very warm speakers. Dave couldn't have picked a better speaker for those cabs. Phenomenal tone.. My LP is brighter than the Schecter.
