The demos I’ve heard sound great but I have too many other modules I already don’t play. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tried the IICP compared to the real deal and it was maybe 75% there. Not nearly as tight and refined.

DLX is great as a pedal platform set on edge of breakup.

i was quickly addicted to buying and selling modules, ive tried nearly all of them at this point.
i can say ive owned 12-14 diif synergy modules and of those, 75% sounded excellent.
Yeah if you're 'enthusiastic' about tone then it's pretty easy to get addicted. I went through lots of Salvation and Jaded Faith modules as well as many of the Synergy offerings. Fun, but ultimately sold it all on and now just sticking with amps.

Out of interest which modules were in your 25% sub-excellent category?

I seriously disliked the dlx (red) channel of the TDLX. The blue channel (twin) was awesome.

The OS suffers from the same issue that i dislike about dumble style amps - channel volume balance. That and i just dont like D-style, smooth and compressed stuff.

I really disliked the Vai bc it was SUPER compressed and smooth - not my thing.

Bman - just couldnt get the low gain tones i wanted out of it without the bass being all farty

Other notes (since u kinda asked) :

Excellent / My favs: 800, Ultralead, powerball, bebb

Very good IMO: vh4, deliverance, savage, Dirty Shirley, plexi, hbe, uberschall

I could probably critique all of them but the first ones i mentioned didnt last more than a week or two

Also - called MusiicansFriend and my guy gave me 15% off the 6506 - so thats incoming

Really digging the 6505 module, honestly.

They def got close to the real deal with it, although I think the Green channel differs from the real thing a little more than the red.

One thing I've noticed with all the Synergy modules, at least through my Syn30 power platofrm, is they all have a little more upper mid presence and a tighter low end across the board. It's the most noticeable on the Slo module, but is also noticeable on the 6505 module.

I personally dig it, as both of those attributes favor my tone preferences, but I can see how others wouldn't like it.

Overall, I really dig the Synergy stuff for what it is - a super close approximation of a lot of amps most people can't afford with good features and ease of use in mind. Could it be better or more accurate? Possibly, I don't know about the circuit stuff but it seems a couple people in this thread think it could be better. Even so, I'm happy with it for what it is.

Also, I absolutely LOVE the IICP module. Like, fuck. I think it's a lot of fun

Agree with all . I wait for the 6505 may be available around september in EU ...

I find it hilarious that Peavey isn't allowed to use 5150 ..Almost like people see 6505 and think, well it's still different and not as good. Theyd probably sell more if they could out 5150 on it. I think I might just shell out the cash for one of the new 6505 modelled after the OG amp.

6505 module inbound. Looking forward to comparing it to my current #1, the SLO.
Let's hear your and @tonedover thoughts once you guys get them.

I've seriously considered buying the Synergy head with the 6505 module and something else. I love the idea of having two red channels.

Back in the day (90's) when I ran my OG 5150 the green was clean and I ran it with one of those little BBE Stinger pedals and an Boss DC2. Believe it or not it was a passable clean. The little Stinger pedal gave it some upper chime. Red was lead and rhythm and I just had a volume boost programmed into my rack delay for leads. And I've always worked the volume knob on my guitars to back it off a bit for rhythm. That was it for Red, no OD's or any of that stuff. I loved my tone back then, was perfect for what I was doing at the time.

I owned alot of amps during that era with the intent of kicking the OG to the curb and they never did.

I had a 5150 sig I sold right before Eddie died thinking I could just replace it for 600. Ended up getting a 6505 for 500 because it didn't say 5150 on it. It sounds the same.

I was thinking about getting a newer version but I've seen a couple people post about QC issues. One of my buddies said he knows where they are being built in China and said nobody there plays guitar so that kinda worries me. I think you should at least play a couple notes through it during QC and actually know what you expect

8/10 - I like it a lot. Ive never played a big boy 6505 or OG 5150 before.
I have owned a 50w 6l6 5153 and a 50 5153
Stealth.

Id say tonally this hammers hard but dont have as much of the honk i didnt like in the 5153 line.

It doesnt really “clean up”, but i use a syn2 and dont need it to bc i usually have the 800 or BEBB in slot 1.

The mid and gain knobs have a lot of variety IMO for “that” type of sound but not so much that it sounds odd. Maybe said better: this module is super easy to dial in as long as you are going for heavy sounds. No”wrong” settings unlike other modules - im looking at you IICP and Vai !!!!

Im considering selling several of my other higher gain modules at this time due to being satisfied w the 6505 and the Pittbull for gain sounds.
