Crap .... can't see this as youtube access has been recently suspended ..... must get home :)

huh....I will at last be getting my Suhr Modern in a week or so - she was probably the first modern ordered with reverse headstock, and few other goodies - so other "reversed moderns" were issued in between :) Can't wait to put my hands on her.

Andy, did you try Suhr/Kokoboost/Herbert - how does it sound? Is yours with Aldrich pups?

love love love shiba and koko boost. i have dropped them in my pedal drawer to try on herbie channel 1 (this channel to me takes pedals so so well) i loved them so much but i wanted them on my pedal board for my country gigs that goes into a vintage deluxe reverb. i pretty much have 3 setups, the einstein to take into the studio (i cut dry then add effects post) the country/fender rig with a small pedal board. and the rig you see here, the Down From up rig, based around herbie. In the pedal drawer with herbie i like the xotic bb preamp, evh phase 90, and barber tone press. obviously clean boosts arent needed with diezel various channel volumes and master volumes. i use for clean the tone press, for gilmour/timmons stuff the tone press and bb. for heavy chug channel 2 in + position dry. and for lead channel 3 gain way back round 10:30 or 11:00 and add the tone press. i like the compression for easy playing but i have got to where i run way less gain, seems like my tone is much fatter now.

and no aldrich pickups, i use ssh+ in bridge and ssv in neck.

cheers!

...glad to hear another one that thinks that Einy simply records beautifully.

Andy,

I used to dial my settings in with the gain verry high. I also learned that you get a tinner tone because of that. I dont use that much gain any more, just enough. I had to adjust my technique but with the lower gain settings and that not only with the Herbert, you get the fattest tones(Peter Stapfer also recommended a lower gain setting for a fatter tone). And thanks for the tip, ill try the tone press, with the singing leads off the Herbert it could work for me, who knows.

Its always a joy to see you perform man, keep up the good work
