Sounds great man. Very envious. After you buy every version and maybe part with one of them, DIBS.Thanks. It definitely is best for more extreme metal.

What’s the compression level vs a normal Wizard?
How different is the MTL mk2 vs the new Hell razor ?
So the MTL is still for Old school metals where the Hell razor is a modern approach ?
Thanks mhenson42 !yeah. I’d say the HR is more modern and aggressive. It has a lot more gain. i can get good metal tones out of all my wizards… w800, MC2 included though. It’s really more in the voicing and level of gain that makes the HR different.
Been in the room with one yet? That’s where it becomes apparent. It took 2 Wizards for me to figure that out.I hate to be the odd guy out here and no offense meant but I don’t think it’s doing anything special that several other amps do in spades especially at that price point.
Glad you like it. But these days so many great amps at a reasonable price range. I guess I just don’t get the whole Wizard thing
Its over the top.. but cant beat for the effort Rick puts in .... it takes lots of work on PTP amp... !I hate to be the odd guy out here and no offense meant but I don’t think it’s doing anything special that several other amps do in spades especially at that price point.

Yeah the room experience and also the feel are really what sets Wizard apart. For recorded tones there isn't necessarily anything groundbreaking.I hate to be the odd guy out here and no offense meant but I don’t think it’s doing anything special that several other amps do in spades especially at that price point.

One more through celestion v30/creamback H75 cabs...

No. A buddy has two and they sound fine. I don’t remember which models they are.
In the room. Yeah I play in a room with my amps. But in a band in a mix people can’t even tell the difference between a modeler and a real amp.
So I guess if your a aspiring bedroom guitar player . In a band is what playing is all about and hearing yourself over the drummer.
In a band, the guitarist can tell the difference..if you choose your amp on the crowd, why are you even on rig-talk? If we were just going off of drunk dipshits in a crowd, none of us would chase tone. Not tone that non guitarists think is good.. i mean if the bar is so low that you dont even have to raise the feet, it is such a poor argument in the context of guitarists.No. A buddy has two and they sound fine. I don’t remember which models they are.

I would say live playing is where Wizards actually excel: they stay so clear and are so punchy. No mud and all the cut you would ever want. These aren't "bedroom shredder" amps by any stretch....No. A buddy has two and they sound fine. I don’t remember which models they are.

To each their own. I’ve seen demos where amp makers can’t tell who’s amp is who’s. Or which is a modeler or a real amp.
I’m not downing the Wizards. I just don’t hear the 3+K difference to other high gain offerings. KT88 tubes have tons of headroom. I had a Diezel Einstein 100 that was insanely loud and clear with them.
Today there are tons of great amps. I like variety. Buy what you like. I’ll say it again. And it’s probably the YouTube audio I just don’t hear what’s so special about it. I’ve heard some clips of the Bogner Uber uberschall and that amp sounds mean thick and meaty.
Not trying to butthurt anyone. Just my opinion.
It’s almost like certain amps have cult like followings and you dare not say otherwise
There are plenty of people that dont like wizards. No big deal. But saying the crowd wont know the difference is just an argument that bears no weight to most of us. When people say they dont like wizards, everyone doesnt get angry and jump to the defense, but when someone says it in a stupid fucking way is when people get annoyed. I dont suck rick's dick. I dont even own a wizard anymore. But there is no denying they are special if you play one. Doesnt mean that you will/wont jive with itTo each their own.
