got a nice 91 lp studio today with the ebony board. price was very fair and it has some aftermarket humbuckers. the neck pup just says "vintage bass" and the bridge has no logo on the front, but SD logo stamped onto the back with a sticker that says "ccj". any idea what they are? the bridge may be a custom shop duncan of some kind, but any ideas on that "vintage bass" pick up?

the guitar sounds fantastic. 90's gibsons, from my experience, are always pretty solid. good wood era for real.

Like has been said, looks like a custom/custom. If it follows the lettering codes from back in the day of the mythical JBJ it may have been wound by Marisela Juarez (first two letters are the model and the last letter is the initial of the winder).

I always thought those black Studios with the ebony board were cool. What years did they make those? What did it set you back?

I also have a '91 Studio in wine red. Can't help your pup question but the original pups were 490/498. I currently have a set of 490's in it. These typically weighed 9.5# or more. Mine is 10.4# and no problem with a wide strap.
