Yeah, I have a Mayones addiction (this is number 3) and I'm totally ok with it. :)

This one came from Omega Music in Belgium. They're one of two shops in the world to offer this version of the Duvell Elite. The other one wouldn't return my emails or calls. Omega was awesome to deal with. It can be a gamble buying from a shop in another country, but they were pros all the way.

So this is a Buckeye Burl Master Builder Collection. I guess that means it's built by their top luthiers. The quality is noticeably better than my Koa Limited. And I was surprised by that, as the Koa is a custom shop model. And this one is like the custom, custom shop. Sorta like how Mercedes has the AMG series, but then on top of that they have the AMG Black Editions. This thing plays better than my other two. The fretwork is a little nicer. The action is perfect. The nut is cut a little better. Neck feels the same: great. Sounds terrific. Nice and tight and authoritative. The regular Poplar version is a little sweeter sounding and rounder. This one's a bit more "djenty" if I had to put a term to it. The Koa/Limba one has more rawness to its sound. Hard to describe.

When UPS dropped it off they required me to pay a brokerage fee and the customs tax/duty. But the driver told me they only take money order. I was like WTF, nobody told me that. How am I supposed to get a money order if I don't know how much the fee is going to be until you show up at my door? Plus, when I was on the phone with UPS dealing with an issue with customs (Lacey Act BS), they said I could pay with a card at the door. So I had to beg the driver to wait while I called UPS and sorted it out. Turns out, I can pay with a check no problem and the driver was just being weird about it.

But anyway, I love these Duvells!

I have a Duncan Pegasus bridge pickup and one of James Peters' new pickups to try at some point too. Not sure what I'll swap around just yet though. They're pretty awesome as is.

That whiter looking one, is that the Koa Limba? Man that's one sexy fiddle. Great collection there.
Get the Peters pickup installed and let us know what you think of it.

I like how to volume knob almost came off looking like stone! Well the finish all together, very nice!

 You scored.
Very few of those 2106 MBC Duvell Limited built. I got mine from the UK and it's killer. I felt the same as you as far as the Eye Poplar comparison.

Beautiful collection brother. I noticed that I haven't ever seen a Mayones with a trem. Do they just not do trems, or is it just a fluke?

Wtf man. You are mentally unstable

But DAMN!!! That's the best looking one you have IMO. Mega congrats and I'm glad all the customs BS worked out for you.

Yeah the one that looks like it just has a normal wood top is Koa. The back is Limba.

I think I've seen a few trems before. But they don't typically do trems in this model because that's not really what the guitars are geared for.

Yeah, Customs was being weird about this thing for some reason. And UPS could have handled it better, but all in all it wasn't too bad. Omega Music helped out, thankfully.

Let's see a photo of yours! You get it from Guitar Guitar?

That looks really nice. I'm not a fan of a lot of the burl tops I see (it's gross to say, but it tends to look like wood with herpes or something). But that top looks fantastic. Really cool.

Love the wenge (I think?) neck. Wenge should be used more often, but I guess it can be harder to find (I think Warwick has had trouble off and on finding enough of it to use consistently).

There's a Buckeye Burl Top thread I started over on SevenString.org with lots of nice examples. Check it out :)

Wenge is nice. Used a lot in basses I think.

Cool. Looks like it has faces and a cave in it   Killer Tops

Ooooh yeah that's a nice one too! I've noticed the ones from GuitarGuitar look noticeably different than the ones from Omega. It's kinda cool. I wonder if they each hand-pick the tops.

So how exactly does one pronounce Mayones?

May Ones,
May Yones,
My Ones,
Mayonnaise,
My Cajones?
